Thanks for sharing.
Giuseppe Peraino took over the Reina family until he was killed, but he's been described as somewhat of an outsider who was placed there by Masseria. Is there any info to suggest he was a member of Reina's family before this, or is it possible he was under Masseria and transferred over to take over the Reinas? From the sounds of this, he was heavily involved with Masseria/Genovese members, and if he did transfer from Masseria to Reina in order to take it over, it could add more weight to the idea that Mineo transferred from the future Profaci family to take over D'Aquila's family.
A couple of times he makes it sound like he's not from New York... do you think this guy may have been in Jersey? Maybe Long Island or north of NYC?
James Demino must be Vincent Generoso.

Not enough info to go on with Peraino... What's interesting is that the Gen/Luc breakup didn't seem to bring any bad blood. After the 1920's thing was settled, Morello and Reina went into some kinda business together. And going up until the 1970's both families' crews were close in Harlem and the Bronx, to the point where the FBI wasn't sure who was with who.B. wrote:Thanks for sharing.

They're still very close. I say it all the time. In the Bronx/Westchester area they may as well be the same family, especially in construction.Chris Christie wrote:[What's interesting is that the Gen/Luc breakup didn't seem to bring any bad blood. Great stuff, Christie!

The relationship you see with the Lucchese/Genoveses is similar to what you see with the Colombos and Gambinos. Even back during the Gallo-Profaci dispute, the Gallo's sought protection under Gambino for a time.
Even though you have 4 different families, two of them are joined with the other two by the hip, any problems are usually short term.

That's all it is, my Dad. He's taking up a lot of my time now. I haven't forgotten about this board, and I certainly haven't forgotten about you. But when you're caring for an angry 85 year old man who doesn't want to take his meds or show up for his doctors' appointments, there's not much time for anything else. I'm seriously going out of my mind. I'll be in touch, though. I promise.Chris Christie wrote:WHERE THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN??? Did you mean Bonaventura "Joe" Pinzolo who took over the Reina Family? I believe that Pinzolo was actually a member of the D'Aquila Family (later Mineo) before he took over the Reina Family.B. wrote:Thanks for sharing.

Yep, I confused those two. Pinzolo is who I meant. Thanks for the correction. If Pinzolo was under D'Aquila and took over the Reinas that could also have the same implication... you have Masseria taking a member under D'Aquila and making him boss of another family, so could also be the same sort of situation as Mineo leaving his own family taking over for D'Aquila.Antiliar wrote:Did you mean Bonaventura "Joe" Pinzolo who took over the Reina Family? With Peraino, let's see... this letter would make him out to be a Masseria/Genovese guy but his sons would end up in the Profaci family. Was he said to be a boss for a short time or am I imagining that? I feel like someone may have thought he was a pre-Profaci boss. Either way he fits in with the Frankie Yale connection between Genovese and Profaci members.
Anyone know if Generoso aka "Dimino" was originally under Yale?
