Cleveland Mafia remnants try to whack a pedophile in Vegas

Post by Ivan »

This article uses the term "member" imprecisely; I don't believe Martino was ever made.

This is old news, Martino was a go between for Iacobacci and Ciasullo. An associate...low level

By the way, was Ciasullo ever made? I've read in a number of places that he was actually just a high-ranking associate, but for some reason I find that hard to believe.

He's still alive, right?

He is still alive but in bad shape. He retired to the Pittsburgh area. Yes, he was made by Jack White

When was he made? According to Angelo Lonardo Licavoli only made 6 guy's (Anthony "Tony Lib" Liberatore, John Calandra, Tommy Sinito, Joseph Gallo, Joe "Loose" Iacobacci and Russell Papalardo) during his reign as Boss.

I don't have the exact year but it was after Licavoli was indicted...so it could have been Tronolone that made him. Ronnie Carabbia was also made while in lock up waiting for trial on the Danny Greene murder. Angelo was out of the picture by then

Do you know anything about the guys who are sometimes listed as having been made by Iacobacci, like Olivieri (or whatever his name is) and Lucarelli? Or other people who might have been made by Tronolone?

I really don't. Iacobacci was a "self proclaimed" boss. Basically, he tried to get the Cleveland Family back up and running and failed miserably. Cleveland died when Licavoli went to prison. After Jack White went to jail, there were remnants. I've spoken to SA Griffin and SA Hawk and they both explained to me that not even the FBI considered Joe Loose a boss or any of the "supposed" made guys under him.

Thanks for the info. Did Licavoli make an other guy's like that? In 1977 Cleveland got the OK from NY (the Genovese family) to make 10 new members so they would have had another 2 slots.

They made Carabbia because he kept his mouth shut and they were afraid he'd flip since they let his brother Charlie get whacked by Prato/Naples in Youngstown. After Jack White, it is very murky. According to SA Griffin and SA Hawk of the Cleveland FBI office (Hawk was my parents neighbor), they BOTH said that after Licavoli, it was over in Cleveland. They did not recognize Joe Loose or Russell Papalardo as the boss of anything. I have heard that Joe Iacobacci did make some guys when he was trying to rebuild the organization but that is even unclear. Scalish did not want to make any new guys, which is why Licavoli got the okay by Tony Salerno. Licavoli didn't trust anybody, not even his own mother. By the time the 1985 Commission Case got under way, nobody in NY gave two shits about Cleveland making anybody. Once Salerno got indicted, he knew Lonardo was cooperating so I highly doubt he spoke to anybody in Cleveland.

Tony Salerno's close friend was John "Peanuts" Tronolone, Peanuts was the emissary between Cleveland & NY. Salerno and him were friends for 40 years and while Salerno was very close to Angelo Lonardo, he still preferred to communicate through Peanuts.

Allie Calabrese would have been another one correct? Most likely made by Tronolone.

Yes, Allie Calabrese was made by Jack White. Tronolone was only on the scene for a very brief period and didn't make anybody according to Allan May. He was close to Joe Iacobacci.

Was William "Billy D" Dileno another one of those made?

Aso do you have anything on the suppossed 1992 ceremony conducted by Tony Liberatre, Joe Loose and Allie Calabrese where they made William "Billy" DeNova and John Iorillo? Thanks.

NONE of that has ever been confimred. The family did not exist then. Tony Lib was made by Jack White and I could assure you he had no respect for Iacobacci. Allan May & Rick Porello, both experts on Cleveland, have reports directly from FBI agents Robert Griffin and Bob Hawk that after Peanuts Tronolone came onto the scene "briefly" that once he was busted, the family was completely finished. Peanuts Tronolone died on June 2, 1991. Joe Loose was not viewed as a boss in any way, shape or form...so how could he make anybody? DeNova and Iorillo were associates as far as I know, but if Joe Loose had a pretend ceremony with those clowns, they certainly weren't recognized by anybody in LCN. The last guys made according to the Cleveland FBI office and guys on the street were under Jack White...with Joe Loose, Allie Calabrese and RJ Papalardo being the main three guys. NOWHERE will you find that DeNova and Iorillo are made members unless it's a misprint of a newspaper article. Joe Loose was a joke, not respected nor feared and he tried to pick up the remnants and rebuild...but failed miserably.

Guys like DeNova and Iorillo were stick up men, not very sophisticated racketeers. They were petty criminals most of their life...just like Joe Loose. Dileno was a bookmaker under Jack White. I know Jack White did not make Dileno at that time but Dileno ran a book along with George Argie and Anthony Spagnola and they all kicked up directly to Jack White. All three were indicted in 1988 and Dileno got 5 years, Spagnola got 3 years and Argie got 1 year and probation.
