Ontario mob enforcer Antonio "Scratchy" Fiorda killed
Sherway Gardens homicide victim was a 'mob enforcer'
A well-known underworld enforcer is the latest victim of the bitter southern Ontario gangland war purging bad blood that goes back decades.
Cops say Antonio “Scratchy” Fiorda, 50, was gunned down in a brazen lunchtime hit near Sherway Mall.
Officers responded to a shooting call at 1750 The Queensway where they located Fiorda in a parking lot suffering from gunshot wounds.
Fiorda was later taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Sources told The Toronto Sun that the Maple, Ont., man was well-known.
“Tony was well-known in TOC (Traditional Organized Crime) as Scratchy,” the source said. “He is /was an enforcer for Frank Viola and linked directly to Commisso family.”
The police source suggested that Fiorda was involved in a number of rackets, including money laundering and extortion.
In the underworld Labyrinth it’s been tough to tell the players without a program.
Prior to Monday’s takeout, Roncesvalles Ave. restaurateur Paolo Caputo, 64, went down in a hail of bullets Aug. 16 in front of his establishment.
Last April it was unrepentant reputed Hamilton mob boss Pat Musitano’s turn.
A gunman tried to take down the underworld scion in front of his lawyer’s office in Mississauga but the gangster survived.
Gangland observer James Dubro joked to The Sun that Musitano was lucky his would-be killers have been like “the gang that couldn’t shoot straight”.
Fiorda leaves behind his wife Zhanna, son Stefano and daughter Anastazia along with a brother and sister.
Visitation will be at the Bernardo Funeral Home 2960 Dufferin St., Sunday from 1-9 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church 811 Lawrence Ave. W on Monday at 10 a.m.
Officers from the homicide division are looking to speak to any witnesses, or to anyone who has security or dashcam video footage. They can be contacted at 416-808-7400, or anonymously via Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

Huh I wonder if this Saaid Mohiadin they arrested in this case is the same guy they arrested in another 2019 murder just a couple months ago.antimafia wrote: ↑Tue May 19, 2020 8:33 pmCross-posting.Laurentian wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 4:29 pm Victim of Toronto daylight mall shooting was a veteran mobster linked to one of Canada's most powerful Mafia clans

Same age and name, the release about the arrest in the Fiorda murder makes no mention of the previous murder or the "Postman" moniker so who knows. Maybe Saaid Mohiadin is like John Smith over there in Somalia.

Wow. Interesting. Great pick up Goonz. The age being the same as the name you’d have to assume same guy.
Don't give me your f***ing Manson lamps.

Aha so it is the same guy! A little more info on the alleged shooter:
https://tdotmurders.blogspot.com/2020/0 ... stman.html
Here's the entry for the other murder he got arrested on:
https://tdotmurders.blogspot.com/2020/0 ... belle.html
"Fresh street talk" in the comments indicate that he's from an area here in Toronto called Jungle and he also goes by the name Flipper. He's been involved in multiple shootings in Toronto and even out in Alberta. So the wiseguys in Ontario are hiring black street gangsters to do their shooting just like in Montreal.

The leadership must really really be insulated if they were ok with a rapper doing a hit...antimafia wrote: ↑Sat May 13, 2023 5:09 pm FYI only. I don’t understand your reply, especially the reference to a leadership — could you clarify?

Re: Ontario mob enforcer Antonio "Scratchy" Fiorda killed
Who actually ordered the hit on Fiorda? Was this from Musitano when he was still alive?

AFAIK, the trial re: Fiorda’s murder didn’t go into who hired his killer or why Fiorda was killed — the only possible exception being that the jury was excused if the topics were raised; and when a jury is excused, this is a telltale sign of a publication ban.

A correction on my part re: my post of May 13, 2023 — as well as just a reminder — that Flippa was the getaway driver in Fiorda’s murder, not the shooter.
