Lombardo was definitely in touch with the Spina that was Lombardo's proxy on the street. Vena worked for Andriacchi. Both Vena and Spina are around 50 and very wealthy/well-connected guys.Frank wrote: ↑Sun Oct 20, 2019 6:46 pmI don't think he had any influence on the streets anymore, I think he was always and most definitely more respected than Peter Gotti. Re: Joey the Clown Lombardo dead at 90
Thanks for the info on Spina, but Vena is 71. I still wonder if Andriacchi is the top boss. With Solly and Vena as #1 and #2. That is why I asked earlier about Sallets assessment of the current administration. I believe most of the info we have is from the CCC, thru Scott Burnstein. It would be nice to know the FBI's perspective.SolarSolano wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:16 amLombardo was definitely in touch with the Spina that was Lombardo's proxy on the street. Just as a general comment, Joey's death almost seems like the end of an era in more ways than one. After the death of DiFronzo, he was probably the last significant guy remaining from the "glory" years of the Outfit (Capone era to 1960s). Additionally, Lombardo's death may very well coincide with the death of the Outfit in general. As many have already pointed out, what does remain of the Outfit appears to be a group of wealthy octogenarians. There is no concrete evidence that new members have been actively recruited, let alone inducted. It's fitting that the Outfit may die with Lombardo, a man who spent nearly 30 years of his life imprisoned for the organization.

How would he be able to do this given that ADX is the most secure supermax prison in the country? Not trying to discredit you just interested to know if you could expand on this further.SolarSolano wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 8:16 amLombardo was definitely in touch with the Spina that was Lombardo's proxy on the street. This was prior to Lombardo's second imprisonment. He was seen around Chicago with Spina. Spina was a city of Chicago employee but used his work time to drive Lombardo around. It has been suggested that Lombardo used Spina, a non-felon, to communicate with the Outfit. It has also been suggested that Lombardo was put "on the shelf" after his second imprisonment or, less likely, voluntarily removed himself from Outfit affairs.moneyman wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:21 amHow would he be able to do this given that ADX is the most secure supermax prison in the country? Re: Joey the Clown Lombardo dead at 90
I doubt Lombardo was talking to anyone for the last few years. I meant that Spina was still his guy on the street - if Lumbo would have come back to Chicago, Spina and his brothers would have made sure he had what was coming back to him. They were very loyal to him and have to think Christy makes sure Marion Lombardo gets checks from all of their real estate.

Yeah, definitely. It seems he was having trouble even finding an attorney at the end.SolarSolano wrote: ↑Mon Oct 21, 2019 11:52 am I doubt Lombardo was talking to anyone for the last few years. Yes you read that correctly - those in the know say the boys in Chicago were meeting at Starbucks. Marco has a big guy with him who sits outside. A fucking starbucks lol. They've been doing that since the last decade.

Re: Joey the Clown Lombardo dead at 90
My personal opinion regarding Lombardo's criminal career is that he started same as the other rising members at the time, meaning he was a professional burglar and later rose up in the organization as prominent killer. The problem was that during those days (early 70s) the Outfit was already on the downfall (except for Vegas and union racketeering) and on top of that, they killed most of their younger associates during the same time, and so I think that they didnt have any other choice but to bring in guys like Lombardo who in turn didnt have the required training or maybe even brains to continue the so-called "tradition". I have the same opinion regarding Sarno or Monteleone, who in turn both had a similar start.
Maybe some of you might ask "what about Carlisi or DiFronzo?"....well Carlisi was probably involved in gambling since the late 1940's, while DiFronzo used to gather fellas like Lombardo in his own club and was also involved in high level loan sharking ops since the mid or late 1960s. As for Andriacchi, I also think that after Lombardo's imprisonment, he took over most of his interests (especially on the North Side) besides being from a different crew.
