Michael franzese

Post by Pete »

I posted in book section but haven't gotten any responses can anyone comment on the various books he's written I really enjoyed quitting the mob and am trying to figure out if his other books are rehashes or new stuff.

Also does everyone buy his religion thing or is this just another racket to him? He seems pretty smart I wouldn't put it past him although he has stayed out of trouble

I'm probably in the minority but his "finding religion" strikes me as genuine. His wife seems to have had a huge influence on him and his decision to leave the life.

Honestly I think he's full of shit, but I hope I'm wrong about it because it's always good to see someone truly turn their life around like that.
If I didn't have my case coming up, I would like to come back with you gentlemen when this is over with and really lay the law down what is going on in this country.....

I think you are right on the money. He's probably genuine when it comes to his faith. It's not that crazy for mob guys to be religious. His old friend Bill Cutolo was very religious as well.

What gets me about Franzese isn't his faith or the fact that he quit the life, but that he's still in contact with some of his old friends. Didn't this guy rat them out? I don't get it.

He never took the stand against anyone as far as I know. But its been said that he did give info on people. Who I don't know. Could be Russians involved in the gas rackets..

Who did Michael Franzese rat on, other then pleading out on his own charges? I thought he served 7 years out of a 10 year prison sentence then walked away when released? For some reason I was under the impression that between his luck running out in the mob and having a religious wife he just walked away.

For someone making a ton of money and having a well known made father sure as hell didn't seem like a favorite, maybe he made too much money?

He testified against Norby Walters, a close family friend. How harmful his testimony was is debatable, but he he still did what he did. It is true that he served a lot of years in federal prison and was even in Lompoc with Junior for a while. I don't know what kind of deal he has with them these days, but they don't appear to be angry at him anymore. My guess is he still helps them whenever he can. It's probably a little difficult for the Persicos to remain angry at him, especially since Junior himself admitted in open court there was a mafia. That was like his opening statement lol. The Colombos may have been more angry at Franzese for leaving than anything else. They would've made this guy boss if he hadn't left. Fucking guy was a captain at 28.

Hard to see anyone becoming boss that is not a persico but I suppose some day after junior has died someone may try to put it to a vote as I hear a lot of people think he's gonna try to anoint teddy since Allie boy is in the can for life

I think most here, including myself, have read Quitting the Mob. I never bothered reading anything after that because what is there really left to say? Sort of like Joe Pistone's books after Donnie Brasco.
