80th Birthday and retirement of Philly acting mob boss Joe "The Uncle" Ligambi fuels talk of a new acting boss taking the reins. Mob Boss Joey Merlino to be released from Fed prison in October. He will remain in Florida.
Sources tell Gangster Report Ligambi’s nephew and longtime Philly mob administrator George (Georgie Boy) Borgesi, 57, planned the bash and is in line to succeed Ligambi as acting boss of the borgata.
In the comments on Instagram, Schratwieser is asked about Borgesi taking the reins and about Lancellotti. DS does not answer about Borgesi but does say:
Mike is sick, recovering.
I was talking to Scott about a month ago, who told me that Ligambi was viewed as the acting boss at that time and that Lancellotti was sick.
'You don't go crucifying people outside a church; not on Good Friday.'
Merlino has been warned and I'm sure that indictment (when it didn't look good for him in the beginning) must've scared the shit out of him. I wonder if he now truly takes a step back and enjoy his freedom or if he really can't help himself.

Joey taking a step back after going to war to get to the top? Doubtful.

The feds will keep going after him until he's jailed for life. He can beat the system if he wants to.

Yeah I wonder the same thing. It just seems like common sense to me but these guys brains don’t work like that....

Criminal geniuses are largely restricted to movies. Studies show that the most common characteristics of people in jail are low IQ, impulse control, and substance abuse.

Borgesi acting boss? DS and GA just said he was legit.
The fundamental question is, will George be as effective as a boss like his Uncle was? And will George be, even more so? But until George is, it's going to be hard to verify that George thinks he will be more effective.

I wonder if Borgesi would take it. He's at the precipice of an enormous crossroad.
