Yeah, he owned, controlled, or extorted numerous adult businesses in Manhattan.

Nah just jokes, he’s not a closet gay AFAIK, that was just a half-joking theory I had a while back on the forum. But Rabito did own a lot of gay bars and sold pills through them; can’t remember where I read that, I think it was either Gang Land News or Donnie Brasco.

:D You got me. I couldn't believe it anyway, with the thousands of hours I spent hanging in gay bars I never saw him once or heard rumors.

It goes with the territory if you're in the mob and you step into this business. Back in 1966 when Tony Lauria aka "Fat Tony" bought The Stonewall Inn and converted it into a gay club some wiseguys began reffering to him as "Tony the Fag". :lol:

Bonanno = Zaffarano
Colombo = Peraino and Caggiano
Gambino = DiBernardo and Zappi - (Zappi I profiled)
Genovese = Ianniello (who I profiled)
Lucchese = Brocchini

*for whoever is interested, i will try and create a profile on DiBernardo and Brocchini soon ok

Anybody seen the documentary about Deep Throat? It’s on Showtime or one of those channels but it’s pretty funny. There is an old couple in it being interviewed and the old man was one of the guys involved in making it but was muscled out by the Peraino brothers and every time he starts talking about it you can hear his old lady in the background telling him to shut up cause she is scared that somebody will come after them for talking. It goes on several times and he argues with her back and forth, like I said it’s pretty funny.

There was a book in 1987 (Dell Pub.Co.) titled Lost Undercover: An FBI Agent's True Story by Ron LaBrecque about FBI Special Agent Pat Livingston (alias Pat Salamone) who went undercover in a MiPorn investigation. The book also covered OC in other parts of the country primarily the mob run porn and distribution industry. If I recall correctly it had quite a bit about Robert DiBernardo and is illustrated.

The book is about the agents difficulty readjusting to regular life after being immersed in a deep undercover role for the amount of time he spent there (5 years total). The book was produced after the agent who was no longer undercover was arrested for something petty like shoplifting.

The key FBI undercover agent in a two-year pornography...
