I thought the general consensus is that everyone is out of jail and back on the streets. Anastasia and Schratwieser said they were back at 80s strenght a few years ago.Amershire_Ed wrote:The general consensus on Philly seems to be its mainly a handful of made guys running a few different books, maybe a couple other things here and there. I didn’t think that was even up for debate?Fughedaboutit wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 7:15 pmWhat are you even talking about? Everyone knows Philly is pretty activeAmershire_Ed wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 7:07 pm There’s a lot of talk about which cities still have activity outside of NYC, and Philly often comes up. I know it’s said Philly is really just a handful of guys running different books or whatever, and all the traditional rackets have dried up....if the Feds are really just trying to tie up loose ends on 15-20 year old murders, it seems that opinion is not far off.

I believe they said they haven't had as many members on the street since the 80s. Not necessarily that they are back to their 80s strength. They have recently said that there isn't much going on and not much left to run like Evoli said up top.

I do listen to that Jeff Canarsie even tho he is kind of a joke. But the amount of dick riding he does about philly is unreal. I mean this guy would suck Joey off if Joey would let him. Mind blowing how obsessed this guy is with “south Philly” and what a “powerhouse” they are lol

They said specifically in one of their videos that they were back at 80s strenght in terms of numbers.Pogo The Clown wrote:I believe they said they haven't had as many members on the street since the 80s. Yeah I think we are saying essentially the same thing. They are talking about the membership numbers not that the family itself is back to their 80s strength.

On an episode of Mob Talk Sitdown that aired about 6-7 months ago after Merlino was sentenced, they were talking about what it meant for Philly. They talked about Lancelotti being the street boss, and Schratweiser said, “he’s running the day to day operations on the street, even though there’s not a lot of operations to run”. And Anastasia pretty much agreed but said it’s hard to tell for sure.

They said 80s strenght but I also think they were referring to the numbers. It's obvious the family isn't as powerful as they were under Scarfo.Pogo The Clown wrote:Yeah I think we are saying essentially the same thing. But this would mean their membership would be about 50. In the 80s it was a little higher was it not?

Yeah in the Fall of 1986 their membership was 69-71 made with the active membership in the 40s or low 50s range.

Philly's history is indeed impressive. It's a miracle they are still around these days. From the 50+ active members they had in 1986 by 1990-1991 they had roughly 20 people on the street and that's before Stanfa took over and all the chaos that followed.
