In my own opinion I think that this group just operates as any ordinary American Wiseguy there definitely not as powerful as they were back in the 1980’s. I believe it just consists of Old Timer veteran Sicilian Gangsters and there American born sons operating Gambling, Shylocking and some drugs. But back then This crew had the drug trade on lock down most of these Sicilian Gangsters were immigrating to the USA from there villages in Sicily dating back to the 1950’s and 1960’s a lot of them became American Citizens and are staying in the USA
My question is does anybody think the LCN Sicilian Factions such as Bonanno/Gambino are recruiting freshly new arrived Sicilian Mafiosi aka Zips?

I realize what you are asking. I find the Bushwick Bonannos exceptionally interesting. There is one member of that crew operating as Cafe in Ridgewood (not Grimaldi, someone else). Baldo amato is finished. Massino killed Georgie from Canada (who was really from Sicily). You honestly have a better shot at stumbling upon a radical feminist slam poetry reading in Bushwick than a Sicilian born Bonanno.

Here is a good blog post about the rise, fall and current status of the Bushwick Bonannos. Note that Fritzy Giovanelli of the Genovese also held court in Bushwick.

A number of Bonnano guys still living/operating in the area e.g Anthony Fasitta, Nat Mule, Vincenzo Masi, Phillip Navarro, Grimaldi's etc. I'm sure there are others.

I thought Fasitta was a Howard Beach guy and Masi a Bronx guy? Could be wrong.

Fasitta I have living at 458 Onderdonk Avenue, Queens, NY (Ridgewood) and Masi at 558 Fairview Avenue, Queens, NY (Ridgewood)

I got this info from HK's thread on home addresses.

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=3857#p88662

It's possible that they own these properties and rent them out or a coincidence that another person with the same name owns them (doubtful) The info checks out if you google the name and address.
