When did valachi flip?

Late in 1962 after going nuts and killing an inmate in prison. His first public testimony was October of 1963 in front of the senate. I think Greg Scarpa began ratting secretly in early 1962, so he started a bit before Valachi.

Dominick ‘The Gap’ Petrilli and Eugenio Giannini both of the Gagliano/Lucchese family were both rumored to be informers. I think both were informers for the burea of narcotics and were eventually murdered.

I couldn't get through it, whoever wrote that seems drunk and can't get to the point. Sally Shields (Not Solly as the writer keeps calling him) had an idiot for a co defendant in the case that got him 20 years when he was 20 years old in 1932. I can't recall the name but he kept making a show of falling asleep and snoring out loud to show he did not give a damn about the court, judge, or jury. Shileds got caught taking the flack along along with him even though he sat quietly during the trial.

To at least the 60’s , it appears he was ratting out people in Trumbull county , he also told the feds allot about the Cleveland family . could explain his failing out he had a failing out with licavoli

As much as Scarpa was informing before Valachi, Scarpa never used that term with the FBI, at least early on. The FBI first learned of the term "Causa Nostra" from a low-level Profaci associate by the name of Louis Ferrini in 1961.

People have been claiming that for years but it didn't happen. Valachi basically had one agent staying with him asking him questions based on various sources to prompt him to open up. That's not the same as feeding information. All the information Valachi testified to was his own. Anyone can compare his testimony to his Real Thing book that he wrote while in prison and see for themselves how the information matches.

As for why you posted as a guest, sometimes the system logs people out. Seems to happen more often on cell phones in my experience. Just have to make sure you're logged in before posting.

Valachi wasn't fed info. In some cases they did erroneously attribute incorrect info to him in publicly released material, but the examples I'm aware of were the result of the FBN mixing things up when they forwarded info from their early Valachi interviews to the FBI.
