Lcn in Central Jersey

Post by slimshady_007 »

I hear a lot about the mafia’s crews in North Jersey and South Jersey, but are there any big crews in Central Jersey?

At least for a time back in the early-mid 2000s, Ninny Bruchi's crew extended down to Monmouth and Ocean counties. The Gambinos used to have a presence in Mercer county years ago. I think it has bern more a case of crews who are based in North Jersey having some operations there rather than crews based in Central Jersey.
All roads lead to New York.

John "Blue" Defroscia comes to mind as a major player in Central NJ. Google his name and look at his indictments over the last few years, these Central/Northern NJ gambling crews are huge.

They might not make as much money since gambling is now legal in nj

In addition to what Tony mentioned, Russo for the Gambinos was in Trenton as well. There was a lot of gambling in Trenton all connected to either Gambino or Philly. Now that Trenton is a war zone, I imagine any operations have moved to the surrounding suburbs (Hamilton, Lawrence, etc). Also, the Decalvancantes had some presence in the area (there is a current soldier living in Hamilton). Can't talk to if there are any active "crews" here but definitely gambling (not sure kicked up to who).

Legal Sportsbooking isn’t hurting them as much as people think. The mob linked gambling crews offer credit and everything is in cash so you can hide your degenerate gambling ways with the wife/gf 😉. To me, it’s annoying to have to download another app on my phone and then deposit thousands of dollars into it. Also miserable to front the cash and wait in line in person down in AC, at the Meadowlands, and at Monmouth Park.

Another big thing is that you can’t bet on any college sporting events that take place here in Jersey with the legal Sportsbooks. The Mob Gambling crews offer lines on all the college basketball and football events taking place here in Jersey all day.....

Can't you just bet through the App?

Yes but you have to deposit money first and have to be in New Jersey. You cross the bridge into the City (NYC) or Philly and you can’t bet anymore. LCN connected books are still far superior because you can bet from anywhere internationally, you bet on credit, they have lines for college sporting events in Jersey, and it’s all 100% Cash.

That’s tough to say because like all fields there’s some crumbs who are unsuccessful and there are the guys who make a killing and live in million dollar homes. That’s like asking what does an average business owner make? Too wide and vast man

Very true some crews have much bigger books then others that Perna book was huge and id imagine still is , and then you probably have some smaller books going on in jersey as well ,so like njshore just said theres alot of variables and then theres always gonna be guys in charge of different packages and certain bettors to run a succesful book and shy its usually a decent size operation and as always the guys on top are gonna make the most and work the least...but as ive said on other threads my personal opinion is its much easier to bet through a local guy and alot of the guys who gamble alot and deal in cash amd dont want records of that shit are gonna do the same remember its still considered a vice by most so alot of guys dont want there business known especially to the government and your everyday guys want that CREDIT be able to bet all they want and go get paid on a certain day or settle up on another alot of guys prefer that

Trenton was a hotbed for Philly Crews from about the 1920s/30s up to the late 80s.

I believe this is the last semi-LCN related case out of Trenton.

In October 2008, 14 people, including several contractors and Philadelphia LCN associate Anthony "Tony Nose" Iannuzzio, were indicted in Trenton, NJ on charges of fraud involving accepting money for home improvement jobs that were never completed. In December 2003, Iannuzzio had been indicted in Trenton on charges of operating an illegal waste disposal company.
