Sal Vitale
Do any of you have a good biography on Sal Vitale? Was the Good looking Sal nickname a sarcastic nickname? Guy seems like a stone cold killer and to spite Massinos restrictions put upon him still played a major role in the politics of the mafia for a solid 20 years and communicated with all 5 families. Also it’s pretty impressive how he stayed out of trouble for so long.

I posted a breakdown of his cooperation in the fbi files section ,Mason_dixon wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 10:10 am Do any of you have a good biography on Sal Vitale? Re: Sal Vitale
It actually i believe was the opposite- he wasnt really respected due to him being a ex CO. Some believed he shouldn't have been made.Stroccos wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 10:14 amI posted a breakdown of his cooperation in the fbi files section ,Mason_dixon wrote: ↑Sun May 05, 2019 10:10 am Do any of you have a good biography on Sal Vitale? Him being an ex CO and still getting made is a "What were they thinking?" type situation. I can't see him being respected or even accepted by most mafia members with that kind of background.

And when was he shelved? At the very end when he was arrested?

Re: Sal Vitale
If I remember correctly Richard Cantarella, Peter Calabrese and Tony Graziano were the panel members after Vitale was stripped. Then Cammarano Sr. was identified as acting ub in late 2002.

Re: Sal Vitale
Did Cammarano become official underboss after Vitale flipped?
Wise men listen and laugh, while fools talk.
Re: Sal Vitale
No, he was only id'ed as acting. Later succeeded by Mancuso after his indictment.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Tue May 07, 2019 5:24 amDid Cammarano become official underboss after Vitale flipped?
