Yes, alot of money he lost. I wonder if he has the money to pay it back. You would think the Chin had left alot of money to his wife and kids. its very surprising. i know a couple people very close to the case (take that as you will, i know second hand type info and conjecture on here is taken with grains of salt for good reason) and up until a few days ago the plan was to take it to trial. hes never been convicted of a crime, felt the case was bullshit, and was planning on going to trial. he had his lawyers prepping for a real trial up until now.

its surprising to think of a genovese member going to trial, but this was different. he was approaching it from the position of not being a genovese member at all.

I’m still surprised somebody of his background, pedigree and family/Family connections would keep such things at his home. I find it rather foolish, and quite unbecoming. Maybe perhaps the expectations we place on him as Chins kid were a bit too high.

My guess is he probably wasn't expecting his nephew to rat him out, resulting in his house being searched. They can't exactly keep all of their cash in banks without attracting too much attention so he probably assumed it would be safe in his house. He has (had) a clean record after all, which is something that most mobsters can't say, so he was as good a candidate as any for storing the cash.
