Crea Sr
According to the BOP website he was released from custody on 2/28. Being that he had been being held without bail for almost 2 years this is very surprising to me. Anyone heard anything about this?

Re: Crea Sr
Crea was initially ordered remanded to custody with no bail but his attorney filed a motion and another hearing was ordered for January (and possibly another, if he was released in February). It could be assumed that Crea was then granted bail.
Re: Crea Sr
Yeah but it’s pretty rare to get bail after 2 years of no bail especially with the charges he’s facing. Usually Rico with murder charges is no bail no matter how much money you can put up. Sounds like this case might be falling apart. I know Crea jr was finally granted bail when the judge decided the evidence was not anywhere close to what the government originally said it was wonder if this is the same thing

Madonna has the same release date on his BOP file

Re: Crea Sr
What makes you think the case is falling apart?
Re: Crea Sr
The rumor mill started spinning after Crea Jr. passed the polygraph and one of the witnesses - Frank Pasqua III - was caught lying. Allegedly the feds rely a lot more on witness accounts in this one and some feel this could make or break the case.
Re: Crea Sr
I'd have to think the revised bail orders were based upon the rulings which found the prosecutors improperly buttressed Pasqua's second version and hid his first version. Doesn't mean the case will fall apart but it does mean that its got big problems for the Creas and Madonna. Unfair they should have been held with bail. Bail is an integral part of protecting the rights of individuals. Federal judges routinely forget there is a presumption of innocence in mob cases.
Re: Crea Sr
The whole case is full of contradictions from the CWs and Witnesses.
Re: Crea Sr
he may of made bail but I dobut it I think capeci would of mentioned it , they could of moved him to another jail for holding that's not a federal facility for example maybe a county jail where they house federal prisoners awaiting trialdack2001 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2019 5:38 am I'd have to think the revised bail orders were based upon the rulings which found the prosecutors improperly buttressed Pasqua's second version and hid his first version. On the subject of Crea, Chaps posted this file a couple months ago which has some great information on this case and the interactions between the various Bronx groups.

There is plenty of interest in between the legal talk, but this seemed like a good illustration of Crea's/Madonna's positions:
Ultimately Datello acknowledges that he owes the money to Crea Sr. (ln. 536). He then
explains that Madonna has attempted to undermine him with Crea Sr. (ln. 540-41). When CW-2
suggests that Madonna will not listen to Crea Sr, Datello sets him straight about how the conspiracy
works: “But if a boss says he’s gotta go—and he has to—and you’re an underboss and you say no,
you’re going against the boss. So you’re gonna say yeah.” (ln. 562-72). As Datello ultimately
explains, “[T]hat’s my—the life I live.” (ln. 886).
I also wasn't aware of this, which is referenced:
...a recording of John Gotti (Gambino boss), Sammy Gravano (Gambino underboss) and John
D’Amato (street boss of a New Jersey family) discussing a planned murder and the fact that they
would need Gigante’s permission, as the boss of the Genovese Family, to carry out the hit using
one of his men.
I wasn't aware of this recording. I assume it was on the Ravenite tapes. Anyone know more details?

Re: Crea Sr
i thought that document was awesome, such a treasure trove. especially about the pot conspiracy and all the young guys across the bronx working together with Larca acting as point guard and almost the boss. idk if they defered to him because he was the oldest, or if it was because he was with the Genovese?B. wrote: ↑Mon Mar 18, 2019 5:03 pm On the subject of Crea, Chaps posted this file a couple months ago which has some great information on this case and the interactions between the various Bronx groups.

anyway about Datello...I always thought him and Crea were super tight. thick as thieves, construction guys, etc.. come to find out Crea is putting absurd and tremendous amounts of financial and mental pressure on him the whole time. squeezing the guy dry. its a miracle Datello didnt rat. i guess they blamed him solely for the Sean Richard thing and Datello assumed all of Richard's debts (or debts that were actually potential future earnings they missed out on?) which amassed over a million bucks. Crea backed Datello into a corner here and it lead to him getting indicted . Crea obviously was able to live and thrive without the money and rate have taken down much bigger and more legendary guys than Crea, so his reputation obviously wasnt dented (i mean he was essentially promoted after prison)...so why squeeze one of your own Capos and "friends" like that? revenge? greed? its absolutely unreasonable behavior

Re: Crea Sr
Yeah, it's a great document, hopefully will generate more discussion on here as people read over it.
It clearly identifies Vincent Basciano Jr. as a Bonanno associate (which has been a debate given his early proposed status) but describes a dinner he attended with, among others, Lucchese captain Crea Jr. and Bonanno acting captain Ernie Aiello:
The conversation then shifts to discussion of another aspect of the conspiracy’s affairs—
whether its members are showing each other the proper respect. CW-5 comments that Crea Jr. has
“always got something to say,” and Larca responds that Crea Jr. is a “peacock motherfucker.”
CW-5 proceeds to describe a dinner that he attended with Crea Jr., Ernest (“Ernie”) Aiello, Paul
Cassano (“Roast Beef”), and Bonanno associate Vincent Basciano. CW-5 relates that, during the
dinner, Crea Jr. began “saying crazy shit at the table” about the fact that Aiello had broken into the
Luchese social club (“breaking in the place”) and saying that he (Crea Jr.) would “take care” of
Aiello. (ln. 331-32). Larca asks whether the dinner occurred “after they had that beef,” referring
to the confrontation between the Bonannos and the Lucheses at the Coddington Club. (ln. 349).
Overall, the Bonanno and Lucchese Bronx crews look to be aggressive and more than willing to engage in violence.
