Oh, and while m as the not a Boss of bosses, Greco IS the most powerful boss, and was organizing the Cupola into a Palermo- centric version of the Corleonesi structure.
Greco was appointing and replacing bosses, that's why two of the Cupola members turned states. They were scared to death... Colleti and Bisconti....

of course the freemasons were involved in that stuff too, they are the most powerful people in italy and the corleonesi (so riina) were directly linked with andreotti, craxi (the most powerful italian politicians) and later berlusconi, all members of p2, berlusconi was sure a p2 member but probably also andreotti and craxiStrax wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 3:13 pm Some say it was Provenzano who sold Riina to police , but i think it goes much higher than that , masonic lodges like P2 were involved too, Riinas took things too far with war on state.
Remember that after Riina's arrest ,police was ordered not to immediately search the Riina's apartment, and stopped surveillance of house after 6 hours, when they came back, house was empty, they found nothing.

Re: RE: Re: Salvatore Riina and the title of
This is what I mean, that there is no official title of Boss of All Bosses, Riina was simply a very powerful mafioso, and in my opinion he was the most powerful mafioso in the Sicilian Mafia, I think Leggio revolutionized the corleonesi but it was Riina who revolutionized Cosa Nostra, so it's hard to say if Provenzano had the same power and status as him.Lupara wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 6:29 pmAgreed.Wiseguy wrote:While the term "Boss of Bosses" has been thrown around too much, if it applied to anyone, it was Riina.
The way the OP describes it very much sounds like a boss of bosses. I'm not sure what he's trying to explain here. Being the head of the Commission, selecting other bosses to replace the old ones, and doing whatever he pleases equals boss of bosses to me. He may not have been actually given the "official" title if that is what the OP is trying to say, but if there was ever a true capo di tutti capi it is Riina, not Masseria or Maranzano.

Riina's son also accused Provenzano of treason, and even in the series "il capo dei Capi" he uses this theory, I think it would be the most probable because Riina really thought he could win the state, and they say that after he was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1987 that rocked with his head.scagghiuni wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 12:00 pmof course the freemasons were involved in that stuff too, they are the most powerful people in italy and the corleonesi (so riina) were directly linked with andreotti, craxi (the most powerful italian politicians) and later berlusconi, all members of p2, berlusconi was sure a p2 member but probably also andreotti and craxiStrax wrote: ↑Thu Nov 22, 2018 3:13 pm Some say it was Provenzano who sold Riina to police , but i think it goes much higher than that , masonic lodges like P2 were involved too, Riinas took things too far with war on state.

although there is not an official title, there were tons of examples of commission members who wanted became boss of bosses, not only riina, who obviously was a real 'boss of bosses'aleksandrored wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 12:36 pm This is what I mean, that there is no official title of Boss of All Bosses, Riina was simply a very powerful mafioso, and in my opinion he was the most powerful mafioso in the Sicilian Mafia, I think Leggio revolutionized the corleonesi but it was Riina who revolutionized Cosa Nostra, so it's hard to say if Provenzano had the same power and status as him.

Few years ago one of 'Ndrangheta bosses was caught on tape saying "its not about 'Ndrangheta, its all about freemasonry now, P3,P4..." i will try to find police video on post it here. Even today they are real brains behind the mafia, even if they get caught, they almost never do any prison time.
Re: Salvatore Riina and the title of "Boss of all Bosses"
This was few years ago , i have no idea what happened with these people and this case :
"The secret 'Ndrangheta 'cupola', members of the so called 'Santa', ruled the elections of several politicians at provincial, regional and national level; among them Giuseppe Scopelliti, ex mayor of Reggio Calabria, Umberto Pirilli, member of the European parlament and Felice Romeo (members of the Alvaro crime family) dirigent of regional forestals; they run the national and European funds destined to Calabria, they had links with Cosa Nostra, Camorra and Sacra Corona. Among the politicians who had links with the 'cupola' also Giovanni Alemanno, ex mayor of Rome, and Maurizio Gasparri, vice-president of Senate."

Re: Salvatore Riina and the title of "Boss of all Bosses"
Ive posted this MANY times, trying to get a knowledgeable posters take on it. This is one of the first major things I've read that made me rethink the scope of Riina's power........
“The Nuvolettas are the only family outside Sicily that sits in the cupola, the high command of Cosa Nostra. Not simply allies or affiliates, they are one of the most powerful groups in the bosom of the Mafia, with structural ties to the Corleones.
So powerful—according to pentito Giovanni Brusca—that when in the late 1990s the Sicilians decided to plant bombs all over Italy, they asked the Marano clan for advice and cooperation. The Nuvolettas thought the idea was crazy, a strategy that had more to do with political favors than military results. They refused to participate in the attacks or provide logistical support, a refusal expressed without any hint of reprisal.
Totò Riina personally implored the boss Angelo Nuvoletta to corrupt the judges in his first mass trial, but here too the Marano clan refused to help the military wing of the Corleone family. During the feuds within La Nuova Famiglia, after their victory over Cutolo, the Nuvolettas sent for Giovanni Brusca, the boss of San Giovanni Jato and the murderer of Judge Giovanni Falcone.* They wanted Brusca to eliminate five people in Campania and dissolve two of them in acid. They called him the way you would call a plumber"...
See, this is why these family clans are so interesting to me.... They seem to be criminal OLD MONEY, like really untouchable. Like some crime version of the Rockefellers, or some shit.

Re: Salvatore Riina and the title of "Boss of all Bosses"
This is very interesting indeed , but this does not match with what Antonino Calderone said, he said that most important people in naples were Mazzarellas, Nuvolettas and Zaza brothers, and that whole Naples was controlled by Michele Greco , and Greco was Riina's puppet. But after reading this what you posted ,them rejecting and failing to obey to Riina's requests and orders , maybe he did not have that kind of power over key people in Naples after all. Nuvolettas today are not that powerful at all , that whole area is controlled by Polverinos. Some of the clan members are still major players in drug business and they invested heavily in Spain, especially TenerifeCabriniGreen wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 12:07 am Ive posted this MANY times, trying to get a knowledgeable posters take on it. Blood pact between Orlando, Polverino and Nuvoletta: all the bonds of kinship between the gangs of the Camorra
Of Internapoli editorial staff - April 19, 2017
The path of Camorra's growth in Orlando is linked to the history of Nuvoletta and Polverino, thanks also to the existence of solid family ties. The Nuvoletta family is linked to the Camorristica family of the Lubrano family, originally from Giugliano and settled in Pignataro Maggiore. "This link - the magistrates report in the order for precautionary custody - was cemented by several marriages between the two families: Lubrano Raffaele (" Lello "son of the boss
Vincenzo) married Nuvoletta Rosa daughter of Lorenzo; while Lubrano Gaetano (brother of the boss Vincenzo) married Orlando Giuseppina (sister of the fugitive Orlando Antonio and mother of Lubrano Armando, Raffaele and Vincenzo), cousin of the Nuvoletta.
The wars with the adversary clans and the judicial measures have determined, with time, the downsizing of the Nuvoletta clan to the advantage of that of Polverino, under the command of Polverino Giuseppe - alias or Barone - which took over from Nuvoletta in the control of illicit activities and in particular, the emerging group became one of the major national importers of hashish. Giuseppe Polverino managed the drug sector by resorting to the system of 'quotas' or 'stakes' paid by the sub-groups of the organization: the young sons of Angelo Nuvoletto, Antonio and Filippo and the group of the Orlando dei Carrisi.
The Orlando, from an autonomous but incorporated structure, first, in the "Nuvoletta" clan and then in the "Polverino" one, finally succeeded in substituting the two organizations historically established on the territory of Marano, acquiring total control over illicit affairs. As mentioned, to facilitate the ascent of the Orlando criminal are also the family ties so summarized in the information of the Carabinieri: "Nuvoletta Giovanni (father of Lorenzo, Angelo and Ciro), deceased, was married to Orlando Maria, aunt of Orlando Antonio ( fugitive and head of the homonym clan); Nuvoletta Rosa (daughter of the late boss Lorenzo) was married to Lubrano Raffaele "Lello" (son of the boss Vincenzo di Pignataro Maggiore) who died as a result of Camorra ambush in 2002 by the "Casalesi";

Re: Salvatore Riina and the title of "Boss of all Bosses"
The passage on Riina kinda really sparked my interest in the powerful clans in naples.
But yeah, after reading that I was kinda baffled at exactly what Riinas power structure looked like... It seems the Nuvolettas were one of the " Old money" clans we ho backed them ..... I think they go back to Luciano Leggio...
