Sounds about right. Tripodi was semi active in the mid 70’s, basically collecting envelopes from other operators. Rumor has it he left a $60-$70 million fortune to his kids and grandkids. He lived like a peasant. I know a few of the Tegano brothers were still operating in Steubenville (non made guys but close to Tripodi). Jack DeSarro’s brother had some gambling there as well.

$60 to $70 mil back then was a huge fortune. For some of
these 'smaller town' guys, crime really DID pay.
