DeCicco

Post by JeremyTheJew »

Been listening to lot of Sammy lately and then I notices even Penisi has a video admiring DeCicco and saying everyone really wanted him as boss….

I’m wondering how true this is tho…. I mean we have several ppl here that genuinely believe he was a CI … and possibly the one who tipped of the commission meeting.

So how much was after the fact type glory? You know everyone’s favorite is allways the one who got killed…. Etc

DeCicco, an informant? Absolutely not true.
Frankie was well respected and should have been the boss but killing Paul was a mistake.Right after they did it, Gravano and DeCicco started talking about the possibility to kill Gotti if he doesn’t work out as boss. Then after this, Locascio and Gravano discuss killing Gotti.
They completely disregarded one of the most important rules in that life and look at what it led to, suddenly killing a boss is basically acceptable for them.

Lombardozzi knocked up a soldier's daughter. Tp avoid the death penalty for this infraction he had to divorce his wife of 40 years and marry this young thing. he held a grudge against the mob ever since which would explain any informing.

He was but there was a different informant in the early 1980s that tipped off the Feds to the location of a Commission meeting.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Based on the Gleeson book, it definitely seems like some other still secret / unidentified Gambino CIs: there was a CI within Ravenite that identified the Cirelli apartment; and then there was a CI who was present at Dom Borghese’s induction.

There’s definitely a lot of smoke around DeCicco regarding the Commission meeting plus didn’t Gus Sclafani call him a rat, and once Gotti and DeCicco took over the family, one of the first orders of business was killing Sclafani.

This has been talked about on the boards for years. There is a TON of evidence that points to DeCicco.. Use the search function.

The big thing with DeCicco is the paperwork Sclafani had. What did it say? He was able to get legitimate paperwork from his mother-in-law for at least a decade that he funneled to other members about indictments, etc. There's no question he had access to LE information during that time.

Sclafani had an extremely tough reputation and knew a false accusation against DeCicco could be disastrous for him, but we don't know what was in those documents he had. Did it flat out say DeCicco was an informant or was it like that "Carmine Persico = rat" nonsense where someone didn't know how to read the report? Did the docs discuss an informant who "could have been" DeCicco but it didn't say it outright and Sclafani jumped to conclusions?

We know there was a high-level CI with access to Castellano and then Gotti, but there are other candidates who fit that bill and if it's true Joe Watts was an informant he could have provided some of that info. The Gambino informant who tipped off the Commission meeting is suspicious given Frank DeCicco helped organize the meeting, served as courier, and everyone else got indicted but it's still circumstantial and we don't know who all was aware of the meeting. However the meeting was obviously very secretive and involved a safe house + DeCicco transporting the attendees back and forth from another location. Very few people would have been able to tell the FBI the location of the safe house before the meeting took place and DeCicco absolutely knew the location, maybe one of few who knew it.

The Sclafani angle is key to this because he produced paperwork and literally put his life on the line to accuse DeCicco, which resulted in his own murder. I'm not convinced DeCicco was an informant but it's worth considering given a member gave up his own life to accuse DeCicco and had paperwork, which as Lovaglio said is a rule when it comes to accusations. Tony Mirra was killed because his uncle had paperwork against him.

I don't think Sclafani had anything on DeCicco or else the outcome would have been diffrent. Even Tommy Bilotti called him an idiot infront of his cousin Joe Corrao, and the FBI agents called him "260 pounds of noise and ineptitude".

Gus Sclafani made the rat accusation, perhaps out of anger towards DeCicco, and couldn't back it up.
