I think the Violi/Luppino have cousins that are Commissos active in Calabria.

I wouldn’t be surprised if, they same type of coalition of types that has occurred in Montreal, where the Southern Italians are working together. Like allowing guys like Vittorio Mariachi back into the fold to develop, if that’s actually true?

Their cousins or people like that will see the huge score available in Hamilton, plus Detroit and Buffalo are the two border city from USA into Canada, both have a Casino as well. Both are traditionally LCN, from the article above it already seems like Calabrese are being brought in, plus the same with Zips in NYC.

The opposition may be the bikers in Hamilton, if that’s a possibilities, other than that I’m sure Woodbridge would be somehow supportive of an initiative of this type.

Pretty sure Verducci had a presence in Hamilton, as well as Francesco Arcadi having good relations as well within Hamilton.

In Southern Italy at the highest levels the Cammora, Ndragheta and Cosa Nostra work as one. Maybe the Sacred Crown, as well now.

If any of you have been reading all the articles that Nicole O'Reilly, Peter Edwards, Adrian Humphreys, and Susan Clairmont have written about Pat Musitano's murder, you'll see how each journalist has a certain take on the significance of the murder, the motive for the murder, the relationships between Musitano(s) and other mobsters/groups, and the consequences of the murder. Same with the organized-crime experts (James Dubro, Antonio Nicaso, Anna Sergi) who are quoted in articles or interviewed on radio/TV.

Thanks for the contributions Anti.

Interesting about this third family in Hamilton. Iavarone.

I’m interested in how N’drangheta cells/families form operate. The three in Hamilton were created mid last century and led by their namesakes Papalia, Musitano and Iavarone.
Who ‘makes’ them?
Are they crews of larger Cells/structures/families?

It just seems very different were by families/cells can just form and deform. LCN is the opposite where by even with the almost complete separation of the Rizzuto Organisation they appear to have been considered Bonnano almost throughout their respective turbulence. Even if in name only.

What are your thoughts please anti?

Edit: obviously and Violi-Luppino cell/family

What always is confusing is these writers always mention Ndrangheta when writing about the Musitanos, the Luppino-Violi and Papalia. But over the years it is known that some became LCN members. Then you have the groups that are known Ndrangeta. It gets confusing. As one said it could be Ndranghta that are killing the Musitanos.

Thanks for sharing these! Nicole O’Reilly was the one who wrote that Iavarone was a member of the LA family, which nobody else has mentioned before or since. Interesting she didn’t include that tidbit in this latest article.

This article I found the most interesting so far, but Edwards' articles always provide good insights.

This Evernote version of yours is also readable on a smart phone without desktop mode.

I think if this Tony Iavarone is a made member, he would likely been made into the Buffalo family during the reorganization of their Canadian crew in recent years. That means he would be under Dom Violi. It's possible Violi was referring to Iavarones as the ones looking to kill Musitano. Perhaps the plan was that the Iavarones were to replace them as part of the reorganization.

It's too coincidental that the murders of the Musitanos, Iavarone and Luppino are not related. And I think it's unlikely that they were all targeted by another group.

They are conveniantly refererred to as 'Ndrangheta simply because of their heritage, but as has been proven in court, most if not all of them are Buffalo members.

Hamilton is a LCN stronghold while Toronto is 'Ndrangheta.

Yes. Isnt there 7 toronto area Ndrangheta families or cells with the Musitano and Luppinos not on most lists.
