Re: General Mob Questions
I'm not saying I'm right, I'm just a speculater too. I just think Leo and Barney are to smart for that. For them to be in contact all the time and Leo in contact with Captains on the streets seems to risky for Leo with his higher profile. I'm

My favorite is when the gangland article came out and a guy on bb said he would bet Barney is fronting for someone lol. I said I couldn't wait to learn about the guy with enough juice to have a guy who just did a dime front for him.

Re: General Mob Questions
Barney would never be fronted for anyone. The one thing i think we can all agree on is that barney is the official boss. The guy has a lot of respect from what ive read, and Barney knows how to keep a low profile. Doesn’t wear fancy suits, doesn’t have social media, not media- friendly etc. Barney is rly what a lcn boss should beDPG wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 8:45 amMy favorite is when the gangland article came out and a guy on bb said he would bet Barney is fronting for someone lol. Re: General Mob Questions
Barney did his time as the front, street or acting boss for The Chin and was obviously The Chins choice as his next in line to replace him when he retired or died. With the age of the Chin generation of members getting up in age, I don't think they were against it either. Alot of them got their chance to be acting boss or on the ruling panel for years. Mangano would probably be the only other that might have been Chins succeessor, but it looks like they were all on a ruling panel for awhile and shared the power till the time was right for Barney to take over. Supervised release and also to throw off LE was probably the reason for the panel after Mangano and then Barney were released.

Yeah I definitely didn't agree with the guy. I believe it was Sonny who quoted me and simply said, "This." Does anyone have the link to the thread for that gangland article? Can't seem to find it through the search.

Re: General Mob Questions
Was it the one that said Barney has been boss for at least a couple years at that time and Petey Red is street boss and Consigliere? It was from around January of 2016 that came out. I didn't think you agreed with the poster that said Barney was a front, I thought you said it was ridiculously funny for him to think he was a front for someone else. I agree with you. It sounded more like Petey Red was fronting for Barney lol.

thank you man, I liked any new information about Lansky, this is even interesting because he was semi-retired at the time.

Manhattan I’d suggest. Home of the 116th street crew (their traditional power base) and Peter Reds club (if that’s still active). This is excluding Jersey where they have the most crews in any location.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 9:29 pm Which borough of nyc are the genoveses most active in?

Re: General Mob Questions
There's probably a similar presence in Manhattan and the Bronx at this point, though there's a lot of overlap between the two.
Though the family has been known as the West Side because of this - and their large presence further across the Hudson in New Jersey - they have long maintained a significant presence in Brooklyn too.
