In both, a Fontana kills a Newark clothing factory owner.
According to the article, John Fontana (brother of Colombo capo Harry Fontana) killed Arcangelo De Fronzo and was arrested a couple weeks later. This took place in 1939.
According to the document, Fontana went to LA and later hid out in Pennsylvania. This took place in 1947 or 1937.
Either the informant’s timeline was off or these were two separate events.

Tony Messina was also killed shortly thereafter in Baltimore, cousin of the Manganos who was very close to them. Probably a Gambino member but never confirmed.

Was Ignazio Lupo ever capo dei capi? In the informer 2014 magazine they talk about how agents reported that Lupo was seen leading meetings with Morello’s family. Also Antonio Comito testified that he saw Lupo reprimand Morello. This strikes me as disrespectful and only acceptable if he was a capo dei capi. What are your thoughts?
