Pogo The Clown wrote:Yeah Graziano was acting up until the early 90s. Do you Paul Graziano was the same guy as the Francisco Graziano that was indicted with Conti in 1993? It is confusing because I think Francesco's middle name was Paul.

Pogo
Yeah, it looks like it is the same guy. He is referred to as "Paul" exclusively (to the best of my knowledge), I wonder why when his first name actually is Francesco?

Pogo The Clown wrote:Thanks guy's. So the early Lucchese East Harlem Crews look like this

East Harlem:
Ettore "Fast Eddie" Coco (19??-1953/5) Imprisoned.
Giovanni “Big John” Ormento (1953/5-1959) Imprisoned.

East Harlem:
Joseph “Joe Palisades” Rosato (19??-1950s) Died?
Paul “Paulie Hamm” Correale (1950s-1962) Died.
Carmine "Mr. Gribs" Tramunti (1962-1967) Became Boss.

So which one did Corallo take over? I'm assuming it was for Tramunti.

By the way I've updated the other succession lists. Again thanks to JD, B, HK and others who contributed. 8-)

Pogo
Just remembered that in that Lucchese stuff we were talking about in the other thread, the Vario crew informant said that they had to get Correale's permission to make him because he was from Correale's territory. I don't think it outright says Correale was a capo at the time, but I would say that's the implication. So I'd say he was a captain by 1958 but probably earlier.

edit: nevermind, another report clearly says Correale was a captain at this time in 1958.

Rosato didn't die until the early 1970s, so not sure if he was demoted/stepped down or Correale split off into his own crew.

I don't think Corallo took over for Tramunti. Hes listed as a captain in several informant reports through 63 and 64, on the FBI list as captain august 64, nominated as a captain in the 57 McClellan hearings and is already on the Valachi chart as a capo so I think he had his own crew well prior.
Ive seen references to him being made capo as early as 1943 by Luchesse but cant find any source material for this date

Does anyone have any more info on Capo Charles Chambollo? I don't recall hearing about him. Thanks.

That´s actually Ciro Giampaolo who was an acting captain but I don´t know for who. The feds butchered his name by typing it out phonetically. He was unknown to them at the time the list was made but was later identified as Giampaolo.

Regarding Corallo, I believe he was acting for Ormento and given official captain status once they realized Ormento wouldn´t be coming home for awhile. Him being a captain already in the mid 1940s seems unlikely to me. I don´t think he was made until atleast early 1950s. He was way too young to have been made in the 1920s or around 1930/1931. The books were then closed until the late 1940s when a handful of new recruits were made.

Thanks for th info HK. According to JD Giampaolo took over for Frank Citrano. This was the Crew that later wound up with the DiPalermo brothers.

So, when a capo is imprisoned, do they resume their duties upon release? Because in this list they almost always never become capos again?
I don't know dick about dick.

I guess it depends on the individual, how long they have been away and what happens in the family while they are away. Most of the time if they have been away long enough they are replaced either becaus things moved on or there has been a shake up or restructuring in the family.

Paul Graziano acted for Conte according to Gravano. I think it was from 1987 (when Conte was indicted on attempted murder and drug charges) to around 1989.

Here´s pure guessing from my part, but it´s possible that Conte´s father Nino was the first known leader of this crew.
Has it been confirmed that Cefalu's cousin took over his crew or another one?

As Godfather of the Goreleone family, I say it’s time that we in horrorganized crime stopped frighting each other. I want there to be peace amongst us. I want there to be a whole lot of pieces.

Adding to the history of the Joseph Franco-Joseph Arcuri crew, Nicola Gentile said when he transferred to the Vincent Mangano borgata in the early 1930s, he was placed in the crew of Giuseppe "Don Pidduzzu" Parlapiano. Most or all of the members of the crew were from Agrigento. The members of the crew were, beside Gentile, Luigi Marciano and Joseph De Franco -- and others he didn't mention. Joe De Franco may be the same person as Joseph Franco. They operated around Elizabeth Street.

The crew of "Staten Island Joe" Riccobono was headed by Saverio Virzi in the early 1900s.

Ettore Zappi's crew was previously headed by Carmelo LiConti, who was killed in 1931.

I think Umberto Valenti or Accursio Domino headed the crew that went to Charles Dongarra. Not sure Steve Armone was in the same crew.

Just recalled another early caporegime: Vincenzo Lo Cicero. He was born in 1865 and died in 1923, and lived around 78th-80th Street in Manhattan. He was born in Agrigento and may have headed the same crew that Parlapiano ran (but it's also possible that there were two Agrigento-based crews in the same area at the same time, so this is speculation). In 1908 he was described as a banker (later an importer).

I also think it's possible that Joseph Traina may have replaced Joseph Trovato, who was killed in 1917. They both lived in Brooklyn not too far from each other.
