No idea unless it's through his gang banger buddies.PolackTony wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 4:23 pmThanks, the one I posted was clearly old.
Any idea what to make of his alleged Rockford connections?

Any idea if the Next Stop Slots place is connected to anyone?

Sounds like a pretty terrible criminal. Might be time to find a new line of work.PolackTony wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 3:03 pmThanks for sharing. Joey Montoro is definitely a career, hardened, criminal from Berwyn and I believe his family was originally from San Lucido, Cosenza. Not sure who he would be related to in Rockford.OcSleeper wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2023 2:20 pm Ballad Of An Outfit Cowboy: Joey Montoro In Trouble With The Law Again, Cicero Mob Crew Operative Collared For Slot Machine Score

Here's a little summary someone posted
\--Chicago Ouftit Cicero crew associate Joey 'Lil Taz' Montoro (aged 38) was arrested in Rockford, IL last week. Monotoro has a lengthy criminal history daring back to the early 2000s, including armed robbery (for which he was on parole at present). In this most recent case, Montoro reputedly broke into a slot machine business on 11/17/23, making off with >$3000 in that robbery.
\--Montoro is linked to the 12th Street Players, a gang with historical Outfit links and has served as a 'farm team' for the Outfit, and the Cicero crew in particular. Authorities further identify him as a liaison between the Cicero crew and the Chicago chapter of the Latin Kings.
\--Per SBs sources Montoro is well-liked by Cicero crew admin and per these same sources Montoro has family in the Rockford area, traveling there frequently (& which may have brought him to the area for the crime in question).

He was pinched in 2006 for a burglary and given a year in Vienna. A week after being paroled in 2007, he got pinched with two accomplices (presumably all ATSPN) for sticking up a Dunkin Donuts in North Riverside. He got 7 years for that. Then, within months of his parole in 2014, he was pinched again for sticking up an IL State Gaming Commission Agent in Berwyn for ~$50k in cash from gaming machines. He was of course on parole when he was yet again knocked in November.

I believe that this is a photo of Joey Montoro, but I don’t know for which arrest:

That's not where he started. You think if it's connected to the outfit in anyway-they would have a little more sophiscation when it comes to a robbery. Dunkin donuts, which does not go more then 5 minutes without a law enforcement of some kind driving through there

Not hyping him up but the Dunkin Donuts thing was from 2007 over 16 years ago.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:23 amThat's not where he started. Paul Castellano's first crime of note was an incredibly stupid armed robbery as a teenager that got him like 17 bucks.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 10:22 amNot hyping him up but the Dunkin Donuts thing was from 2007 over 16 years ago.Tonyd621 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 9:23 amThat's not where he started. On the subject of Rockford, there was a murder about 10 years ago that occurred in the old Italian area of Rockford by St Anthony’s church. A Nicolas Vitali was stabbed to death across the street from the old Italian church St Anthony’s. I doubt it is mob related but the victim was 29 years old and Italian. Anyone have any info on him?

In a later article, Rockford PD still hadn’t made an arrest as of March 2014.
There was a Salvatore Vitale from Cìnisi in Belvedere back in the day connected to Pietro Alfano and Phil Priola, but there were also Vitales in Rockford from San Giuseppe Jato and Avellino province. No idea which Vitale/Vitali family this guy was related to. Maybe Cavita will know something about him or his family.

You know, I have no idea who this guy was and I've never seen the spelling as Vitali in Rockford, though there are many Vitale families still there. I couldn't even find an obituary for him to see who his parents were.PolackTony wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 4:17 pmLooks like that link is broken.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Wed Dec 20, 2023 3:40 pm On the subject of Rockford, there was a murder about 10 years ago that occurred in the old Italian area of Rockford by St Anthony’s church.
