Buffalo Family organization, early 1977
I should preface this by saying I know next to nothing outside of general knowledge about the Buffalo/Maggadino Family, but I have some reports that describe the family's organization in early 1977 as follows:
Niagara Falls Faction (First time hearing of this. This faction was composed of those members loyal to Maggadino.):
Benjamin Nicoletti, Jr. - Boss
[redacted] - Consigliere
Buffalo Faction (This faction was composed of those allegedly rebelling against Maggadino's rule. This would seem to be the faction recognized by the Commission.)
Joseph Angelo Pieri - Boss
Roy Carlisi - Capo
Joseph J. DiCarlo - Capo
Salvatore (Sam) Pieri - Capo
Charles A. Cassaro - Capo
[redacted] - Capo
Rochester Faction
Sam J. Russotti - Boss (imprisoned)
[redacted] - Consigliere (imprisoned)
Salvatore Gingello - Capo (imprisoned)
[redacted] - Capo (imprisoned)
[redacted] - Capo
Rochester "faction," despite being listed here as part of the Buffalo LCN, is noted by another informant as being "under" the Bonanno Family. Not sure how much new information is here, but I thought it worth sharing.

Thanks for sharing it.
Adds to the topic a while back about why Rochester members were listed as Bonanno members into the 1980s. There was also an early 1980s report about one of the Rochester members returning to the Buffalo fold.

Highly doubtful Nicoletti Jr. was boss over this father in '77Snakes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:32 am I should preface this by saying I know next to nothing outside of general knowledge about the Buffalo/Maggadino Family, but I have some reports that describe the family's organization in early 1977 as follows:

Sorry, that was a typo. It should be Sr., but I can no longer edit it.Newyorkempire wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 10:05 amHighly doubtful Nicoletti Jr. was boss over this father in '77Snakes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:32 am I should preface this by saying I know next to nothing outside of general knowledge about the Buffalo/Maggadino Family, but I have some reports that describe the family's organization in early 1977 as follows:

The Rochester Valenti bros, of Grottesi descent, were listed as Bonanno members on the 1963 chart.

So the family had all Capos and no Soldiers?
Re: Buffalo Family organization, early 1977
This file only had the leadership listed - no soldiers.Etna wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 11:19 amSnakes wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:32 am I should preface this by saying I know next to nothing outside of general knowledge about the Buffalo/Maggadino Family, but I have some reports that describe the family's organization in early 1977 as follows:

Rochester Faction
Sam J. Russotti - Boss (imprisoned)
[redacted] - Consigliere (imprisoned)
Salvatore Gingello - Capo (imprisoned)
[redacted] - Capo (imprisoned)
[redacted] - Capo
The redacted Consigliere is Rene Piccarreto. The imprisoned redacted Capo is, I believe, Gene DeFranceso. The other redacted Capo is, I believe, Richard Marino. Strange that they have Gingello listed as a Capo since it was established at his trial that he was the UnderBoss.

Scratch that. Looking over my notes DeFrancesco was demoted in 1972/3. So the redacted imprisoned Capo would be
Richard Marino. The other redacted Capo was Thomas Maortta.

Re: Buffalo Family organization, early 1977
Has Rochester ever been recognized as an official borgata at some point or are they just to be considered a faction of Buffalo?
Re: Buffalo Family organization, early 1977
Rochester never received official approval from the Commission to form their own family. But they did break off from Buffalo and the feds tracked them as a separate organization.
All roads lead to New York.
