Re: General Mob Questions

What kind of name is "Aladena." I've literally never seen this name anywhere other than Jimmy Fratianno's birth name. Does anyone know where this name even originates? I've always wondered this.

I'm wondering this too. I read he was at Florence but the BOP says he's still at Hazelton?

Re: Boston 80s?

I didn't have much luck posting this on its own so I thought I'd put it in a more specific post: In looking through the 1980s FBI files of Rockford LCN underboss Frank Buscemi, the attached excerpts indicate that in September 1983 Buscemi was contacting a “ranking Boston Sicilian Maffia figure.” At...

Connections: An Investigation into Organized Crime in Canada

Not really sure if this is the right place to post this, but has anybody heard of this documentary before? It's a CBC documentary from 1977 all about the mob in Canada and supposedly has interviews and footage of prominent Canadian racketeers (Violi, Papalia, Commisso). I've tried searching for the ...

Re: Visiting the West Side 1963

There was something I read in someone else's notes about DeFeo being quite power hungry/greedy or something. A poster on another forum had mentioned there were wiretaps of Alo and Catena after they were retired in Florida. Apparently they were neighbours and Phil Lombardo lived nearby too. Not sure...

I see an article that says he was in New England circa 1950 -- do you know which area?
Providence.

Re: Which Mafia Members lived in Strange Places?

I dont recall if he was a member exactly but, Kenneth Guarino was a pornographer and Gambino associate who kicked up to Natale Richichi. Guarino lived in Providence. Richard "Redbird" Gomes was another Providence guy who was an associate of the Gambino family. Good friend of the Gottis.

Re: Which Mafia Members lived in Strange Places?

Orlando Napolitano and his son Joe were apart of the New England family and lived in Portland, Maine. Joe later became an informant and was killed. Billy Grasso was with New England but lived in New Haven. If I recall he was associated with Ralph Tropiano and the Colombos originally, but later becam...

Re: What Price Providence?

Henry Tamelo allegedly had a chance to get out of jail for the Deagan murder he didn't commit, but he needed 150k to pay some gov't official. Zannino and Anguilo refused to chip in because he was a RI guy and not a Boston guy. Tamelo died in jail. I heard he had dementia too but that isn't mentione...

Re: What Price Providence?

Anyone read Gerard Ouimette's book? Pretty decent read with some info I hadn't known before. He def toots his own horn a bit and gets somethings confused, but its got to be one of the better books about RI LCN. One of the things mentioned was that after Billy Grasso got out of prison where he was c...
