LCN Members/Families that started in Sicily
I was just curious about how many of the known LCN members originally started off as made men in Sicily? I know its said Carlo Gambino was made at 19 in Sicily and many others who eventually came to America. Also, what are some famous mafia families that originated in Sicily that came to America? Su...

Re: Strongest crew from 60-90's
We should do one for each family. Which families strongest crew. Colombos: Wild Bill would be a good nominee before that Mimi Scialo Bonanno: The Sicilian traffickers? Lucchese: Vario, I would assume or Jersey. Gambino: Jimmy Brown or Fatico/Gotti? Genovese: 116th street or Jersey? I think its a ha...

Re: Tommy Lucchese the most underrated LCN boss?
I think the Lucchese are underrated, I see more people talking about the other families, with guys like Luciano, Costello, Genovese, Gambino, Bonanno, Colombo, Galante, Persico and etc... I think the Lucchese are very discreet and less known in general. Until the 90's with Amuso and Casso. I feel l...

Re: Tommy Lucchese the most underrated LCN boss?
I wish I had the skills that Eboli or Gohn have in researching I would of dissected the Lucchese family by now the website thenewyorkmafia has a ton of good articles but they turned into a paid service now :/ . They had a few good write ups on Joe bikini, Vincent Rao, Joe Brown Lucchese, Anthony Co...

Re: Tommy Lucchese the most underrated LCN boss?
There's not much to suggest that Dioguardi was anywhere close in the running for the boss position around the time of Tom Lucchese's death. In the 1950s, Dio was one of Lucchese's favorites but gradually fell out of favor. Since the Victor Riesel incident, Dio had a federal target on his back, and ...

Re: Tommy Lucchese the most underrated LCN boss?
He’s pretty famous and he was low key powerhouse. Don’t know if he was underrated per se. Underrated might not be the best wording, but i def feel he isn't as respected (i know we arent suppose respect them since they are killers etc, but you get the context) as he should be. I think he was way mor...

Re: Tommy Lucchese the most underrated LCN boss?
He’s definitely underrated. He really set up the lukes to be stable by appointing the people he did to those positions even long after his death. The Amuso/Casso thing is unfortunate because they were just close with Christie Tick & were selected because nobody else was seen as future leaders? ...

Tommy Lucchese the most underrated LCN boss?
I have posted about this on other forums, but wanted to share the discussion here. To me i feel Tommy is probably the most looked over LCN boss by the general mafia fan. Everyone mentions Frank Costello, Carlo Gambino, Luciano etc as top bosses in the life, but tommy rarely gets the respect he deser...

Silvio P. DeVita - Genovese Newark Capo
Does anyone have any info on this crew? I have found very little info about him even on this forum. It looks like he might be the most "senior" of all the NJ genovese capos. The crew used to be ran by Ruggiero Boiardo "Richie the boot" who is a NJ legend up there with Anthony Pro...

Re: John Pennisi: The Tim Tebow of the Mafia
In his most recent podcast he went over the whole story about the multiple times he seemingly was being set up to be killed. But i don't disagree with anything else lol. In the end, if his story is true (giving benefit of the doubt here), he def had a reason to leave that life due to them trying to ...

Sonny Franzese should have been the boss, not joseph colombo
I understand that during the period that colombo would eventually become boss, sonny was in prison. But it seems like he should have been the man that took over the leadership spot. Colombo got handed it because he told the commission that Magliocco and Bonano planned to kill the other commission le...

Re: Strongest crew from 60-90's

I know on the lower rings of that ladder, the crew was mostly thugs and degenerates (Hill, the Argentina Brothers, Larry Taylor) blue collar street shit...but the crew as a whole was huge. between made guys and real associates it had to have been 50 guys? origina...
