Re: KC member Joseph Gurera

Does anyone know the story behind the death of Joseph Gurera's father Carl Gurera? He was shot to death in 1933 over a dispute with his wife, allegedly by his father-in-law Carl Mangiaracina and his two brothers-in-law. The last newspaper account I can track down says the police were looking to que...

Re: KC member Joseph Gurera

Going through some old KC files and found some more Intel provided by Joe Gurera. Unfortunately, most of it is redacted. He indicates the "New York" terms like underboss, caporegime and consigliere are unfamiliar to him and aren't used in KC. He provides a breakdown of the KC administrati...

Re: Kansas City Crime Family

There was a making ceremony supposedly in 2015 when the guys from the 2010 busy came out. If it’s true or not, who knows. That’s what I heard from sources that I trust. If you don’t believe it, that’s fine. No making ceremony in 2015,I know people were saying Fat Joe Scola, Sal Begula etc got made ...

Re: Kansas City Crime Family

There is a presence but very small these days, no real structure, there are some titles but most ceremonial. There are some young guns working with a few made guys, doing things and making a little money, but its not a real family structure. They have some capable young guys will do dirty work, most...

Re: Kansas City Crime Family

What was the dynamic like between the Kansas City and St. Louis families considering they were both in Missouri? Was the combined strength of these families ever brought to bear within LCN politics or no? John Simone, the son, went to college in St. Louis in the early 1990s and supposedly had a boo...

Re: Kansas City Crime Family

Something they portrayed in that show Ozark, how much did Right to Work weaken the KC family? The Teamsters specifically? Just a few things I was wondering about, since KC is at the forefront for the moment..... Carry on.... When the family lost local 41, with the removal of Jimmy Mortina and Nick ...

Columbus park still has quite a few Italians there. Some Italian businesses there include: the north end (used to be lasala’s) italian restaurant, garozzos, moretina’s caddy shack (pizza place run by joe moretina, and vocci’s pasta ship, just to name a few things. In terms of mob hangouts, the scio...

Re: Kansas City Crime Family

I'm a little surprised that a family like KC went the way of the dodo so quickly. It's sort of like New Orleans or some of those other small families, the boss goes away for a long stretch and the family falls apart, like there was no real structure in place. You would think that a family that was ...
