Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

I also found this Reporter Dispatch article from December 1969 describing hearings by a New York State Investigation Committee looking into city contracts in Yonkers. One of the members of the Committee stated that the police believed that Nick Rattenni succeeded Jimmy Angelino as a captain after An...

Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

- Seems Miranda must have had a huge crew if it was first split between him, Dolce, and Del Duca then split again among the guys mentioned in the original post. We know things aren't always that linear though when they "split". Either way the early Genovese Family looks to have had fewer ...

Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

Pasquale Del Duca was identified as Generoso's successor. JD has identified Ralph 'Whitey' Ferraro, a close associate of the Del Ducas, as a Captain at the time of his death [1973], so good chance that he took over for Pasquale. That would also raise the question of who the 'Patsy' was that Rosario...

Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

Those guys who had been under Miranda and who were made captains in or around 1962/1963 were acting captains some years before. So Vito Genovese made them acting captains sometime before he was taken to trial and official captains later. The exception is Frasca, who seems to have been acting captai...

Re: "They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

Celambrino may have been the successor to Pietro Dolce, who died on April 13, 1961. Dolce, like Celambrino, was close to Generoso DelDuca, so the crews of Patsy DelDuca, Celambrino and Dolce may have roots in the Generoso DelDuca crew. It's possible he was given Dolce's crew after he died, but Cela...

"They all used to be under Mike. Vito made them caporegimes."

On 7 January 1963, FBI bug NK 2251-C* picked up a conversation between Angelo DeCarlo and Anthony Russo. During that conversation, Russo mentioned how he had been called to a meeting in New York with Michele Miranda and Antonio Carillo. This led to a discussion about how Miranda, Carillo, Ruggiero B...

Re: Salvie Testa's Young Executioners crew

The crew was split between Faffy Iannarella and Tommy DelGiorno, both of whom were promoted to acting captains by Scarfo at the induction ceremony where Nick Caramandi, Charlie Iannece, and Joey Grande got straightened out. They were both made official captains a couple of years later. Not long afte...

Re: If stanfa never made merlino

If Stanfa never made Merlino but everything else happened the way it did, I don't think much would have changed. By the close of the war, the Genovese family was backing Natale to take over as boss, and him not being made yet didn't really matter. It just required Merlino to hold a ceremony so he co...
