Yeah, I counted about 30 still alive in that list, not counting if there’s any new or unidentified members.

Re: OC Shortz and DiLeonardo
It was thought that when JR Rubeo was wiretapped Rooster Onofrio he says something to the effect "he never makes anyone" that he was referring to danny leo. even JD said it was Danny Leo per fbi reports. i end up interviewing Rubeo (because of my gambling connections with a guy named span...

Re: OC Shortz and DiLeonardo
Didn't Scars say he flipped after he was put on the shelf? How was he still meeting members and recording them while on the shelf, what am I missing I think after he got arrested, the bosses told his crew to stop kicking up to him. And he got pissed off and sent them threatening messages from priso...

Re: OC Shortz and DiLeonardo
I forgot the Scars wore a wire; he even tried to ensnare a lawyer. He was looking at max 15 but more likely 10-12 and still rolled. Frankly, he is soft. If he were in the same position again, he'd roll. I believe Scars was indicted on the Frank Weiss murder. After Vinny Ocean Palermo flipped, he ga...

Re: Buffalo/Ontario Mob Acitivity
I really appreciate Nickle’s reporting and investigations. Your research is second to none and is an asset to the board. And I also appreciate the skepticism from Wiseguy and Pogo. Too many mob forums turn into people taking small scraps of information and immediately jumping to conclusions without ...

FWIW Borgesi was at Joeys trial in new york every day. Think about that… Agree. This has to be a ploy vs coup. Cui Bono? Good thinking. Entirely possible Merlino is still the boss and is having his people leak to Capeci that he retired. Then, should Joey run into any legal trouble, his lawyers can ...

Re: Gambino / Venezuela?
Mobfax on youtube posted this clip of Buscetta testifying that Venezuela was an independent family. I vaguely remember there’s been some other research here on the board that confirmed this.

Re: The Book That Hasn't Been Written
The Mob Archeologists should collab on a book. There’s so much info you guys have uncovered, in terms of how the mafia is structured, how interconnected all of the families are by region/campesini, etc. B’s articles on New Orleans and Birmingham alone could be the foundation for two chapters in the ...

Incredible episode B! That has to be the most informative and thorough investigation of the New Orleans family out there.

Interesting that the article was published as an opinion piece, instead of as a regular news article.

There’s already a book called Takedown about a cop who infiltrated the mob from 2002. It’s a pretty good read about the garbage rackets in the nineties, Allie Shades is mentioned often.

Re: sicilians/corleonesi
I would also recommend reading Excellent Cadavers if you want a good history of Riina and the mafia wars of that era. The Sicilians really had a beautiful thing with their heroin pipelines and all of the systemic corruption in Italy. Riina fucked it all up and now they’re super weak, especially comp...
