Re: Mark Rossetti

I think he was made after stepping up for Cadillac Frank in the 90's war and the year's after. He was an absolute psychopath, beat up an undercover cop at one point. Darin Bufalino was close to him. I read that Bufalino didn't rejoin the mob after his last bid after he heard that Rossetti was a rat....

Re: Gigi Portalla Interview

Bill Ierardi was acquitted in the Black Friars Massacre in 1978 but he most likely did it. He died in 2001.

Mark Eldridge was whacked back in 2002 in Candelino's Cafe in Somerville. It's probably one of the last hits in the region. Shot in the face in a crowded bar.

Re: Gigi Portalla Interview

Im halfway through the book and frankly I think it's terrible so far. Gigi has been tooting his own horn like crazy and there is so much time spent on the FBI, Bulger, Connolly, etc. Basically he is saying that the FBI instigated this 90s war, which may be true. I just think the book is not written...

Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era

Can't really say his Bonanno membership didnt help. Because of his Bonanno membership he was able to garner support from other Bonanno members in Montreal and many non-members. Desjardins, a non-member, only killed him after being put in a kill or be killed situation. True enough. Let me rephrase. ...

Exactly!! He struck me as someone who was a far away from organized crime as possible. 28 years will probably do that to a guy.

Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era

I think that the beginning of the end in the Bonanno-Montreal relationship occurred with the murder of George 'From Canada' Sciascia. Montreal is their own thing now. Being a Bonnano didn't help Sal the Ironworker.

Re: Gigi Portalla Interview

This was interesting, just listened. He actually seems like a nice guy. That wild man that he was painted as back then in the 90's is long gone. Very little OC talk other than he knew Gerry Angiulo in prison. More talk about his issues with the government, life in prison (28 years) etc. He's working...

Re: Boston FBI Disbands OC Squad

Connolly's was released on parole due to 'terminal illness'. Three plus years later, his illness might not have been that 'terminal'. Living free in Massachusetts https://screenrant.com/what-happened-to-fbi-agent-john-connolly-after-whitey-bulger/ Released from Florida state prison in February 2021,...

Sal Marino and John Scarpelli were both made along with Louis DiNunzio. Those three may be the youngest members.

Re: Luigi Manocchio has died

Bufalino got f*cked when he got 7 years in the Rosetti case. You got an fbi informant committing the same exact crimes and in some cases more serious from a legal perspective. I'll never forget this article about him: "He hid in Ireland for several years, working as a model and at a pub, then ...

Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era

If Callochia whacked DiMaulo at Rizzuto's request, then why was he killed a short time later?
