I liked his book a lot. Realistically its the closest we’re going to get to hearing anything about the old Corozzo crew, and the closest we’ll get to hearing about (from a Gambino standpoint) action and activity in Canarsie and that general area of Brooklyn in the 80s and 90s.
If he’s going to be doing the rounds, I hope he makes his way to the MBA podcast if anything. Hell, even a 3-4 part series with Pennisi and Tom would be great. Hearing more little casual Canarsie and Corozzo stories would be awesome, and I’m sure him and Pennisi know some of the same crowd and general neighborhood stuff.
I’ve read his book and seen him interviewed elsewhere before, so I will probably steer clear of Staxx’s typical interview-for-a-general-audience shit (I can only imagine he asks questions about Gotti Senior, Alite, Pablo Escobar, who the fuck knows what else) - but DiDonato never struck me as deplorable, doesnt seem like THAT much of a bullshitter, and seems like he’d be a great guest on a decent platform.
You can already tell what the Staxx interview is going to be like with the sensationalist title “Robbing Banks with the Genovese” - I mean come on. I’m not putting DiDonato’s pedigree or criminal history into question, but from what I remember in the book, after he was on the outs with Corozzo, Cutolo, and others, he was hiding in NJ robbing banks with a small rag tag crew of people, one of whom was a Genovese associate. That title is structured to make it sound like DiDonato was a Genovese associate himself masterminding heists on behalf of The Chin. I see what Staxx is trying to do with titles like this and it’d be a million times better if he just said “an interview with a former Corozzo crew member” and actually had some good questions and a flow prepared
