I didn't do a new podcast yet...working on that now but I did post something new up that I thought was interesting...I'm sure some of you will have fun with it....

On the day of Carlo Gambino's funeral on October 18, 1976, Eric Sevareid gave a scathing editorial during the CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. In it, he said the Mafia weren't Italian but a separate race and that they should be treated like an enemy government and not entitled to due process. He even compared them to Nazis.

At the end, he's obviously speaking of Joe Colombo and the Italian American Civil Rights League and their FBI protests in 1970 & 1971. Here are some excerpts.

"The cherished rights of due process designed to protect the arbitrary power of the government protect the Mafia. But are they individual citizens or are they a separate government? An enemy government."

"...the Mafia are not Italian. They have been closely inbred for so long...they should be considered another race - simply mafiosi. No doubt should they really be broken up, someone will raise up a cry of race prejudice against the part of the law enforcers."

Including that Luciano started the commission as the B.O.B.
I think it's even possible he didnt even start the commission and thsts just part of his myth....

As well as....
Frank Costello was the model for Vito corleone and evidence of the attempted suicide.... ya never heard that lol

Although I think some of the trial stuff is set to come up on Pacer sometime in November but I don't know if it will necessarily include exhibits. Govt put a lot of stuff under seal.

Steven Crea was sentenced Thursday for the murder of Michael Meldish, but the proceedings focused on everything but and topped the charts in absurdity and nastiness.

Will definitely listen to this. Were you able to obtain any of the exhibits from the Meldish trial? I tried via PACER but there weren't any on there.
No all of the discovery is under protective order and it doesn't appear that order is ever going to be lifted. Which is unfortunate...

As an aside, I'm having mic issues (I guess it pays to buy better but hey live and learn) so Cherry Hill is sort of delayed though I'm trying to get it done tonight. Will be discussing lots of info I didn't include in that extensive article including some Lorenzo Mannino stuff that relates to the overall theme. Plus I found some awesome new docs on John Gambino (the docs are old but a cool find - to me anyway) that I'll post here later in FBI files.

If you're interested in listening to Dominick Crea, here's the link. And in general (I've said this before) Frank Morano is also worth listening to.

That would be fine. I didn't really want to piss anyone off with my ramblings but if it can be that would be great. Thank you.

This Cherry Hill thing is going to be really great. I'm going to go over some stuff I didn't cover in that extensive article I wrote about some things like law enforcement trying to link the Gambino bros to Angelo Bruno's murder and what they claimed the connection was. Hopefully, I'll get it out this weekend. I have bales of research. I might even share what was apparently John Gambino's favorite quote/saying he said every day which sheds light into his personality I think. But I'm a quote person so of course, I'm going to like that. And while I'm going to discuss the various media aspects of the story, no ranting. Obviously, I don't deny they were involved in drug smuggling even though govt really had their sights set on these guys from the minute they stepped into Cherry Hill (Joe and Rosario - JG was based in Brooklyn). Also going to touch on Rosario a lot more than I did in that article as well .... within reason but they hated him - my interpretation.

Episode 4 Pt. 1 - Add It Up: Steven Crea Gets Sentenced...Sort Of

An in-depth look into Steven Crea's August 6 Sentencing for his racketeering charges stemming from his November 2019 conviction. Only part of the sentencing took place due to time constrictions and dealt with a $2.5 million forfeiture and his presentencing report.

This is Part 1 of this episode. We report on the 1.3 million part of the forfeiture.

New episode is being uploaded now. I actually talk about this forum briefly without naming it (nothing negative). It's in the beginning.

Stop the Hammer Episode 4/1 - Going Down the Rabbit Hole in the Case of Steven L. Crea and the Murder of Michael Meldish

In Part 1 of this two-part episode. we discuss media reports on the sentencings of Matthew Madonna, Christopher Londonio, and Terrance Caldwell and how it can influence future pending cases, the complexities of RICO cases, and ethical behaviors before and after trial of the FBI, prosecutors, and judges specifically as it relates to the case of Steven Crea. A prelude to the second part where we'll delve in-depth into Crea's August 6 half sentencing and also discuss Joseph Dinapoli and the ethical behaviors of judicial decisions.

Episode 5 is in the works and will focus on the Cherry Hill Gambinos, so that should be fun.
