I'd be surprised if there wasn't a mob angle here.
$400 an hour is just insane. Talk about short-sighted.
Id be surprised as well , Theres numerous schemes and scams I believe the Mob is now running due to the Union membership and power dwindling with outright control of Unions and locals . IMO the Mob can remain entrenched and out of public view with alot of front people and schemes like these making up for the losses and keeping LE off they're assets . I think if LE investigated deeper they'd find the connections and there would be more indictments and cases . The figures and estimates over the last 15 years say there is more corruption over this time period than the last 3 decades combined
Good stuff BKLYN I'm with you I believe the mob has a hand in more Union stuff than a Lot of people think these days there's way to much for them to be able to take advantage of them to not be involved. Everybody that's in the unions has a family member or (knows somebody),at least that's how all the guys I know always got in.
Yes , Exactly ! I dont believe for a second the Mob over the last 20 plus years just fell by the wayside and lost alot of they're power and influence in labor racketeering in the Construction industry , Theres obscene amounts of money and these schemes going on . Most of the names aren't Italian but I believe they're using way more fronts today than ever before for obvious reasons . I think labor racketeering and the Mob is very big today and they regained some of the power they lost over the years and its one of they're biggest money makers today. The plumbing industry in NYC is heavily influenced by the mob today , It seems every body is a plumber today lol
