Alberto Lorusso, the inmate to whom Totò Riina expressed the threats stolen for the pm linked to the State-Mafia negotiation and in underlined manner to Antonino Di Matteo, has been transferred to another penitentiary. The "alleged" boss from Puglia was the so-called "lady in company" (in prison jargon) with which in recent months, the head of Cosa nostra spent the two hours of daily sociality allowed by the prison regime 41 bis. In recent days, at the disposal of the DAP, he was also questioned by the chief prosecutor of Palermo Messineo, and his added Teresi.
But who is Alberto Lorusso? The news about his identity appears increasingly conflicting and confusing. For many it is referred to as prominent bosses of Scu but, browsing through the web search engines, with the exception of recent events, there are few signs that concern him. Yet he is the only one among the criminals detained in the supercarcere of Opera to have collected the frightful utterances of Riina gaining his trust.
According to what has been learned, the role of Lorusso is still under investigation. The Palermo prosecutors suspect that it may be an infiltrator of the secret services, placed in contact with Riina in the context of an obscure strategy. In fact, those who have wiretapped the interceptions, describes him as a curious person and aware of what he asks.
After the confidences of last June, gathered by a penitentiary agent to whom Riina alleged that his arrest was the result of a collaboration between Provenzano and Vito Ciancimino and that the proposal for a negotiation was initiated by the State, the PM Di Matteo arranged a more stringent monitoring of interceptions. So they were placed of the "bugs" by the Dia in the place where the boss used to belong to Alberto Lorusso during the hour of air. It is therefore surprising that the head of Cosa nostra, composed in the inflexible silence for over twenty years aware of the rigid inspections, suddenly lost control with an alleged mafia from Puglia without a criminal "fame". Equally suspicious is Riina's interest in the anti-mafia pool if we consider the prison to life now definitive and that the addition of life sentences from new processes will not change to her prison curriculum.
Certainly the first thesis, which sees Alberto Lorusso at the top of the Sacra Corona Unite, should not be excluded. To better understand this path, let's take a few steps back, at the birth of what in the order, is considered the fourth Italian mafia. The origins of the Scu are still unclear, but a first hypothesis, says that the camorra boss Raffaele Cutolo, in 1981 formed an organization associated with the Campania mafia in the territory of Puglia. On the other hand, another was followed by local exponents annoyed by his attempt to expand. A second hypothesis, however, believes that the SCU was founded by the 'ndraghetista Giuseppe Rogoli in the prison of Trani with the consent of his head stick Umberto Belloco. Because of his detention, Antonio Antonica, was appointed sole responsible for the illegal activities that took place in the area of Brindisi with the task of also appointing area leaders. According to unsafe sources, the contrasts between the two generated a war between clans in which Antonica himself lost his life and in the refounding they agreed on the strictest and most severe forms of affiliation, whose statute also saw the signature of the Riina. It is therefore assumed that, since 1987, Alberto Lorusso was a potential boss of one of the most representative families of the Brindisi area.
Another curious fact in support of the first thesis concerns the Municipality of San Pancrazio Salentino (BR) where Maria Concetta Riina, daughter of the superboss, lives. In addition, Ninetta Bagarella, wife of the head of the chiefs, could also reach the village of Brindisi where until the 90s, Alberto Lorusso was considered at the top of the gang. Coincidence or signal of a partnership between the Scu and Cosa Nostra?
Waiting for better clarification of the identity of Lorusso, the affirmations of the Minister of the Interior Angelino Alfano are welcome, but it is to be hoped that the words will quickly follow the facts, starting with the "bomb jammer" still not predisposed to the risk takers life, Antonino Di Matteo.
Meanwhile, on Friday 20 December a demonstration is scheduled in Palermo with citizens, associations and social, political and trade union organizations supporting the Pm Di Matteo and the anti-mafia pool.
In this regard, the CSM bureau deliberated a delegation to participate in the demonstration of solidarity with the threatened prosecutors. The proposal will be submitted to the plenum. In a note we read: "The Bureau has decided to propose to the plenum for next December 20 the visit of a council delegation led by the vice-president in Palermo to meet the heads of the judicial offices, show the solidarity of the CSM towards the magistrates object of intimidation and verify the possible interventions of the autonomous government in support of the serene and efficient exercise of jurisdiction in that territory ".
