Tommy Abbott- Capone rival 1930s question

by cavita » Mon Feb 12, 2018 7:44 am

Does anyone have any info on this guy? He was described as a rival of Capone, having roots to the northside gang in 1930. Two of his associates/bodyguards I know of are Elmer Whitely and William Sullivan. Abbott's real last name may have been Abbatini or Abbate as the newspapers of the time are never quite clear and he was also questioned in the murders of Jack Zuta and Jake Lingle. One final note, by October 1930 Tommy Abbott had gone missing and two rumors that were going around was that he was living comfortably in Mexico and that his body was at the bottom of a water filled quarry in Summitt, Illinois. Either way, he was never heard or seen again.
