With nearly every piece of Outfit related news revolving around Vena and the Grand Ave crew, and espeically that "looming bust" that was coming down last year and never materialized, how likely is it that Vena is really street boss? Is this a decoy created by Solly D and the other true Outfit higher ups?

And there's not many photos of him around the internet. Anyway, thank you

Thanks a lot @Snakes and @Slick for the answers, I wasnt sure and couldnt find any reliable info regarding Barbara's status within the organization and thats why i wrote in my article "According to some reports, Barbara was in fact a “self-made man”, and that he also might've been through a Mafia ceremony. "

I have one more question, is this the guy?

Didn't know you were Toodoped sorry. Thanks Snakes, I do not think he is made either, just a trusted chinatown associate/Roti family member, who probably doesn't do a whole lot for the Outfit anymore. He was involved in the Hired trucks program which had many Outfit members/close family members involved, and had some shady land dealings with Tommy D and Scalfaro all the way up to around 2008 or so. So if asked by Caruso, I'm sure he would do what he is asked.

Villain = Toodoped.

I am fairly certain that Barbara isn't made. You are probably referencing Scott's chart when stating Barbara as a "member." A lot of those guys that Scott had listed as members weren't/aren't made. I think he was referring to them more as active or leading members of the crew.

Yeah Villain, I'm not sure if he is even active or not. But I would guess that anyone who is part of Frank Caruso's extended family is active whenever he asks. Toodoped wrote about the garbage business and the Outfit over on Gangsterbb.net. It has a section on Fred Barbara. You should go check it out.

Thanks for that info. Im not so much into the new era of the Outfit but is it Fred Barbara for sure considered a made guy? He was labeled as 'member of organized crime' and i believe that he was very close with LaPietra

When I say millionaire I mean has a net worth of at least $1 million. I would say The Difronzo Brothers (probably all three), Andriacchi, Marco D'Amico, Tony Dote, Sam Sarcinelli ( owns a lucrative ATM business), Anthony Quaranta, Sam Galioto (was just busted for $3 million tax evasion), Mike Posner, Rick Rizzolo, Sam Cecola, Michael Giorango and Zitello (got all that money from Broadway Bank), the Daddanos', Frank, Bruno, Leo Caruso and family members which includes Fred Barbara, Charles Scalfaro, and Tommy DiPiazza (who all bought property in Marco Island from $2 million up with no loans), Tommy D was also at one point was in business with Ray Tominello, a 26th St member who worked with Angelini and Cortina, who is also probably a millionaire. and I also think that Solly D and the Spanos' could still be millionaires if they had good people running their money when they went away. It's also possible someone like Matassa, or Spina or Vena is. There are also fringe people who probably are, like the Bastones or the Lombardos'.

Who knows his level, I assume associate, but Sam Cecola is without a doubt a millionaire.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Bastone and Caruso families were in that range as well.

Generally, Acting Boss and Street Boss are the same thing. Underboss is something different, though the traditional idea people have of what the underboss does overlaps with those other roles.
