I remember growing up in Cherry Quay (Bricktown) the other kids had that Philly'ish twang. "Come awn" or "wheres the fewn (phone) at?"
Now they sound more like dis guy ova heah.
I still laugh when I think about that neighborhood and how my dad, from Newark, happened to pick the only block in Bricktown in the 70s with two mobbed up guys living on the block. One guy, with this obviously made up "mediggan" last name, his wife was a red head bombshell with horn rimmed glasses who worked at The Dime Savings Bank....meanwhile, my man was in his 70s. Good times!
