He told a Bonanno snitch he was doing time with that he was going to get in the real estate industry when released. So he planned this out. You don't need a clean record to flip houses.

How do you leverage a criminal record and gangster reputation in a legitimate career? I think it’s the other way around, but would love to hear your side....

The legal way of obtaining pay checks is consistent...we all know how many debtors are out there who owe money and can't pay it. Chasing the dime is more aggravating than having it come to you by mail or direct deposit legally. Maybe he parlayed his reputation into legitimate/semi-legitimate businesses
Hard to believe a guy like borgesi can’t make at least 250-500k a year just being himself and being legit ,his connections and name alone he could be usefull to many legit and quasi legit venture
That's possible, maybe he found that out in the last couple of years. Maybe the legal money is far out weighing the money he would be making in mob money.

I don't doubt he has taken a step back, just not completely. He met with the Boston guys, Bilotti, and Parrello in 2015, that report Schratwieser did on him is from late 2016, it's not exactly ancient history. Borgesi is a scumbag criminal, always has been, always will be.

B- exactly- they all had legitimate jobs back in Bruno’s day. You don’t have a legit income and you just invite the feds to come after you. Plus it looks good to a jury. Harder to tell a jury you’re not a mobster when you live a luxurious life with no job. Plus, they need legitimate cash flow so they can clean their dirty money. I mean the whole thing makes sense. Frank narducci Sr had a furniture store amongst other legitimate businesses.

Which I gotta say is stunning given that both Anastasia and Capeci have reported on Borgesi attending a sitdown with Joe Bilotti in Florida, meeting with Patsy Parrello in Philly, going to Boston to see guys who aligned with them in the late 90s, Anastasia labeling him as a "street boss with his fingers in a lot of pies", not to mention there being no shortage of footage of him having walk and talks with Grande, Mazzone, Ligambi, etc, and holding court at their new clubhouse(s).
