I saw him testify at the Westchester Premier Theater case back in 1978. He was very cool and calm describing the hits he did which were mostly strangulations.

" Even the Devil tells the truth often enough so you will believe his bigger lies" Old Southern saying.
He basically came off as a con man to me also.

Roselli was killed in Florida - I believe the Miami area. He was found in a barrel off the South Beach area back in the late 70's

I reread Fratianno's two books to see what he said about first cooperating and he claimed he only began to talking after he was released from prison in 1973. That may have been when his relationship with the FBI became meaningful but he was certainly sharing Intel a few years earlier. This FBI document show Fratianno already taking out an insurance policy with the FBI years before he claimed in his books. He had a foot in both camps by 1970 at the latest.

The FBI described Fratianno as offering “excellent potential” as an informant which turned out to be the understatement of the century.

The FBI documents on MF don’t contain much information from Fratianno but here’s what he told the FBI about the Johnny Roselli hit.

Fratianno said “it came out of Chicago”. He said only the “contract man” and the man assigned the hit are in on it. Fratianno said that Roselli had been meeting with Santo Traficante in the weeks leading up to the hit so he could be involved. Fratianno said whoever Roselli was playing golf with the day he died was likely was involved in setting up the hit.

Interestingly, at the time Fratianno fed this information to the FBI in 1976, he was suspended as informant because of his involvement in a pending RICO investigation. The FBI could only speak with Fratianno if he initiated the call.

Wasnt Roselli seen entering some relative's house and from that point on no one ever saw him?

There was an informant in the Sacramento area giving information during the same period Fratianno lived there, wasn't there? I remember coming across some docs with information from someone in that area that must have come from Fratianno.
