Good info. I’m now intrigued.

In the immortal words of Douglas Murray “you have the suicide bombings, beheadings, women in bags and gang rapes on the one hand, but you get to try a new cuisine on the other. So, you know, swings and roundabouts...”

The powers that be are quickly trying to change that by flooding the state with those Somali animals.

The Portland Seafood & Wine Festival is typically every February. We spend much of our time between Cape Neddick and Yarmouth, ME. So we are looking in the area from York to Yarmouth (just North of Portland). I am not sure about private school from K-8. We live in a public school district that is one of the better school districts in the state, hence why we pay a shit ton in property taxes. I went to private school K-8, those Nuns turned me off forever.

Maine is over 94% non Hispanic White. The State has the highest White population in America and therefore (according to Statistics) has the lowest violent crime rate in America. That really surprises me.

My wife and I spend “a lot” of time in Maine. I’ve been in Massachusetts for 15+ years...we have been saving for 10 years and as soon as my son gets out of full time daycare which runs me $1500 per month, we want to purchase a 2nd home/cottage in Southern Maine. So, anytime I see something like this happening in Maine, it makes me feel at home in Youngstown.

Portland is a hopping city, we go to the Portland food and wine festival every year and it is absolutely astonishing what they have done with the old port. Many of the restaurants have been opened by chef’s coming from Manhattan who have purchased the buildings, lives in a much less expensive area and are putting out amazing food. For a while, the city of Portland was giving grants to perspective business owners with property tax abatements. It’s an incredible city for young professionals and is centrally located close to everything.

Pretty ironic that he gets criminal sentencing credit for not having a prior record, precisely because of inadequate law enforcement---unless he was useful in some other way. Must at least have been tight with the local cops.

Wiseguy wrote: Mon Jul 30, 2018 6:59 pm The main operation appears to have netted $11.3 over an 8 year period. It's hard to make direct comparisons without more specific info but it looks like it could have been as big as some New England mob bookmaking operations and even bigger than others (looking at the cases over the last 20 years). However, that's comparing the Main operation to any single New England LCN operation and obviously the mob in New England has more than one. In terms of total money, the Patriarcas are a bigger operation.
Agreed. That’s $1.41 million a year in cash. I’m not aware of any mob boss who wouldn’t want to absorb that kind of consistency from one of his bookmakers.

Keyword is “Netted.” After expenses, payouts, bribes etc.
And if he had been in the Boston or Providence area, they would have taken a piece, assuming they would have allowed him to go into business at all.

Maybe the government didn't bother with him at the time because there was no mileage in it for them, compared to going against something they could call a LCN bust. LCN busts fed their budget for bigger fry. Now those are slim pickings in New England.
