Legalized gambling does wonders for the native American community.
And hey, I think gambling should be legalized, I'm just saying these things aren't black and white, they're contentious for a reason. Gambling can have seriously detrimental effects to a community. Hence I cited the above.
The rest of the world thinks the states is completely fucked up on so many issues. You guys can buy an AR15 or open carry a Glock to a supermarket in many cases, yet cant throw a tenner on a NHF game. How the fuck does that work?
The U.S. IS fucked up on many issues. We've been the laughing stock of the civilized world for several years. There is no doubt about it. LOL
Be more like Western Europe or Canada? No thank you.

The mob can still be a layoff outlet for our broke government, or for the next time it shuts down.
But, like WG said, who knows what the S.C. will do? But, WG, I respectfully disagree that the conservatism on the court will be a factor against legalization. This case involves NJ arguing that the federal government does not have the right to prevent states from legalizing gambling at racetracks and casinos. Therefore, there is a State's Rights angle that attracts conservatives, and Thomas seemed to warm to it. It also should be borne in mind that any decision in favor of New Jersey's limited law (racetracks and casinos) does not necessarily govern the legality of what other States might come up with.
In terms of staying consistent, I have to agree. I can't say abortion or gay marriage should be up to each state but not gambling. Unfortunately it seems there's no shortage of states lining up to legalize it.
Being the laughing stock of the Civilized World meaning all those other Countries that are NOT 3rd or 4rth World Shitholes laughing at some of the hypocrisy in this Country. That's what I mean by Civilized. Has nothing to do with accepting liberal idiotic policies of Western Europe. it has to do more with Washington D.C. spending all their time creating a new committee every week to investigate each other, or The American Media spending all their time downgrading the President even if he found a cure for cancer, or the American Media focusing on what color hat the first Lady wore to a States Dinner, or our Policy of fighting a War with our hands tied behind our back, or the American Culture embracing Political Correctness and making that the FIRST PRIORITY in Life. That is what I meant. All those things are LAUGHABLE. LOL
