Al Capone, Jim Grady and Moose Jaw, Saskwatchewan, Canada

by Dwalin2014 » Sun Feb 22, 2015 4:24 pm

I just found this excerpt from a book which I ordered about Moose Jaw in Canada which is among American towns called "Little Chicago" because of the supposedly high crime rate during Prohibition:

Here there is a mention of Capone's local contact, one "Diamond Jim" Grady. Anybody can post more information on him? Did such a gangster exist at all or is it just a legend? The only "Diamond Jim" I found is this one
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Jim_Brady
And he is "Brady", not "Grady" and died before Capone even became a boss.

Here in another article an author says the Al Capone connection to Moose Jaw is just a myth started in the 70s

What do you think? Have I just wasted my money on a book full of unverified information? Have you read it?
