Huh. Not surprising at all.

Though I realize there are ways to hide it, being able to easily look up building owners would be a nice research asset ha.

La Luce was excellent. I believe Frank Jr. laundered his family money there.

Funny story and I know this because I do real estate, that victorian building at one time - along with the building around the corner that houses JP Graziano - was owned by none other than Martin Accardo.

As i recall, junior Calabrese had a piece of La Luce. Unsurprisingly the owners of the building seem to be Italian.

The name stuck out to me as well, made me wonder if they're fronting these places for someone else.
lol that was my thought.

If they wanted to keep it real, they should've called them "Copernicus's" or something.

I guess that Ed Gobbo and Alex Pissios were customers of the bank? Or just that these guys were based out of Bridgeport? I dunno, any potential connections may be pretty tenuous. While the fact that the Kowalski family is now known to be involved in video gambling out in the burbs does raise my sensors, this could also just be a bunch of Polacks who got popped for running a bank fraud scam.
Hm. Could be, but if Gobbo and PIssios have any involvement then it's likely Pacella is also involved and we know Pacella was into Pissios for juice. Could be loaning out money to people we have heard of.

What's Farano's connection?

John Farano is involved in this - he is a felon and related to (grandson?) of Frank Esposito if I'm not mistaken.

Looks like the family of Bob Kowalski, pal of the late John Gembara and facing charges for his role in the Washington Federal bank fraud case, has been running video gambling bars in Chicago Ridge. The feds teasing that more indictments are forthcoming. I suspect that this may be leading to charges that the Kowalskis were investing some of the embezzled funds to their gambling establishments. We'll see.

Also really appreciate the mug shot of Kowalski here, just screams tacky corrupt Chicago business dude lol.

Thanks for this and yeah, the guy also looks like he had few lines of meth right before the pic was taken lol

I met way more interesting Chicagoans in fucking Las Vegas than I met in the yuppie parts of Chicago.

I stayed in Logan Square a little while in summer 2016 and it was hipster hell.

Nice to hear that there are still some real neighborhoods left.

Sounds awesome, I'll have to check it out.

The places I had to stay in when I was in Chicago were Yuppie/Hipster hell. (Old Town was the worst.) It's nice to hear that some of the old-style neighborhoods haven't been taken over yet. I figured that was all out in the suburbs now (that was the impression that I got when I was there - that the people in the old, interesting Chicago had all moved out to nice suburbs lol).
