Merry Christmas

by Judy Garland

Merry Christmas,
Have a very, very merry Christmas.
Dream about your hearts desire,
Christmas Eve when you retire,
Santa Claus will stop and I know he'll drop
Exactly what you wanted from your chimney top.
So be jolly,
Have a holiday as gay as holly.
May the ones you love be near you
With the laugh of friends to cheer you.
When the church bells ring,
Like the angels sing,
And you hear the joyful hymn they chime,
Hang a wish from me on your Christmas tree
[Repeat]
For a very merry Christmas time.

Gaylord is a name of Norman French origin, from the Old French gaillard meaning "joyful" or "high-spirited"

Looks like there was a lot of white gangs for the outfit to use. C-Notes, Gaylords, Royals, etc...

There is a YouTube video that shows the members
in the 80's. Fosco attached it to his website.

Mostly composed of Italians but they had a few Polish and later Hispanic kids in their ranks. Hung out in the Grand Avenue, Ohio Street, Leavitt Street area. They stayed prominent because a lot of the members knew or were related to Outfit-connected guys, which afforded them some measure of protection. They did odd jobs like burglaries or breaking windows for them but they also did some drug dealing on their own. They feuded with several other gangs over the years (mostly Puerto Ricans or African-Americans) and formed several alliances with other white gangs.

From what I've read Albert Vena and Paul Koroluk were former members.

This is a good article on the C-Note$: https://chicagoganghistory.com/gang/insane-c-notes/

They were/are like the farm team for the Grand Avenue Crew. I think Vena used to be a C Note.
