Yes and Yes. Hit the kid.

I think this murder was pulled off by the Bronx crew from what I remember. Probably all this guy has is hear say. I am sure they wired him up and had him approached guys to talk about this murder. Probably didn't get anything or you would have had an indictment already if they had someone on wire.

He also rubbed Patty DeFilippo the wrong way. When DeFilippo was first arrested, Seccafico was tasked with buying him some new suits but then, by the eve of the trial, DeFilippo lost 100 pounds and Seccafico had to buy some more. He was told to go to a place called Vito's, but Seccafico instead went to Men's Warehouse and DeFilippo was pissed.

And yes, what you said about Johnny Joe Jr. is true, Seccafico is thought to have slapped around the kid. GL News: According to accounts provided by knowledgeable sources, this is how the confrontation between Johnny Boy Spirito and Little Anthony evolved:
“You’re not doing the right thing with my mother,” complained young Spirito.
Little Anthony (left) slapped him and pushed him down in a chair and told him, “I’m around now, not your father. If you have a problem, tell your father to come around and see me when he gets home.”

Is it known why he was hit? This happened before i started following the mob and i haven't heard it come up much.

The hit was well-done, unlike the Meldish hit or similar assassinations. Also, until Lovaglio, no high-ranking Bonanno has flipped since 2009.

Lovaglio was behind bars serving a ten year stretch when Seccafico was hit. That being said, according to Gang Land sources, Lovaglio (after flipping) fingered members of a Bronx-based Bonanno crew as participants. This points to the theory that Johnny Joe Jr. was a driving force.

Seccafico was hit in ‘09. Lovaglio wasn’t bumped to Capo until ‘11.
So Seccafico was hit when Lovaglio was merely a button.

There’s no reason to believe he’d have any concrete/firsthand knowledge about the hit other than standard gangland gossip.

When a Capo passes the order to hit a crew member to the guy/s doing the work they don’t also issue a memo to all the other crew members listing the reasons the guy had to go 😋

The fact that it is one of the more recent hits and that they got away with it has always been interesting to me.

Literally I'm shocked. No one on here has brought this up yet. That's why I thought maybe I'm retarded or something. !but I would figure he would have to know something about seccafico getting hit..lovaglio was close enough to the upper echelon of the family to where you think he would know something about it. A bit after seccafico got hit someone told me that they heard davanzo could have pulled the trigger. Not at all saying there's even 1 percent truth behind that claim but thought I would mention it jsut because it was said to me. Does anyone on here have any guesses of what crew or possibly who could have hit seccafico

Personally I think that would be the most important info he could have to give the Feds. Not testifying about merlino.
That's a good question. They have a Bonanno Capo from SI, have a murder during his tenure but nothing comes of it. Only thing I can think of is informants or deceased members were involved. Why use him in a BS healthcare fraud scheme case against a Philly guy when you have the Seccafico murder? The Feds have been on the losing end for a long time now. They only deal in Stats, that is why they charge 40 guys and offer 3 year plea deals. They only want to pad their stats, advance their own agenda, and receive a promotion. Like LCN it's about the money and the stature.
