I believe I have a picture of Philip Scolleri ay camp with Jo Jo. I'll take a look for it and if I have it I'll try to post it.

Lawrence Amodie was in partnership with Mike Gulino in Johnstown. George Joseph was also a partner in the enterprise and he was connected to Sonny Amato in Braddock and Philip Scolieri, an LCN associate of Wango Capizzi

Did you happen to know Lawrence Amodi?
Name sounds so familiar. I think I knew a Melissa.
I believe Melissa is the judge...her dad Larry has been the biggest bookmaker in Lawrence County for years...he was tied up with Frank Unis Jr out of Aliquippa
Larry's daughter becomes a local judge. Any idea if Melissa would be a conduit for judicial/political influence with her father's associates in the area?
He’s 76 years old now, I do not believe he is a major bookmaker anymore. She has a pretty good reputation as far as integrity goes...

I’ve heard of Simone Andolino, there are still a large group of Andolino’s in the general area. I have not heard of D’Amico

There are a couple Profaci/Colombo members that were born in New Castle. Simone Andolino and Cosimo D'Amico. Do you know their history?

thought I posted this a while back but I did not. The Medure Family is pretty well known in the area, they owned one of the most successful Italian restaurants for years that was pretty mobbed up. They also own commercial properties and allowed Henry “Zebo” Zottola and Lou Raucci to set up two front companies in their buildings, S & S Carpet and a Pasta Company

I believe S&S was the low bidder on a big job at the Pittsburgh Airport. I also believe the FBI got involved.
Rocca's Pastawas actuall made in that building. It was the best Homemade Pasta, so good that I served it in my restaurant.

Here are some nice links to Indiana, PA...which has a massive history of organized crime, especially during the bootlegging days. Sam Adornato was the guy there for a long time, he was close with Paul Romeo and Dominic Mallamo of Youngstown.

how close together Warren, Akron, New Castle, Cleveland, Youngstown and
even Pittsburgh are on the map. And every town had its own mob guys.
Reminds me of NYC - NJ = Philly area. One giant swath of bookies and shylocks.
Don't forget Steubenville, OH (home of Dino Crocetti aka Dean Martin, Lou Holtz..and mob heavyweights Jimmy Tripodi and Cosmo Quattrone), Weirton, WV (Silvio "Birdie" Pinciaro was the guy in Weirton). Wheeling, WV (Bill Lias then Paul Hankish ran the rackets there), Erie, PA where James "Westfield Jimmy" Salamone and Serafino Romeo ran that area and Canton, OH where Pat Feruccio ran that town with an iron fist.

Wow this is amazing. I lived on Winslow Ave as a baby before moving to the North Hill. Went to school with Gennocks, Moses, Scungio's and Nativios. When I was in High School our Athletic Director was this guy Angelo Fornatero. He had a bunch of us kids taking bets with weekly football pools. We had been doing it since the 5th grade and I never realized it was gambling as a kid. In fact my dad would give me the dollar a week it cost. Long after I graduated he got arrested finally.
JCB have you ever been to the "Bahamas" quarry in Hillsville? That was our spot! Also ever been to Bailey's restaurant on the East Side? That was my parents place. I worked there for years as a kid.
I grew up in Poland so the next town over was Hillsville...I had Aunts and uncles and cousins who still live in Hillsville and the Bahamas was where we used to cut school and go swimming
