What's ur opinion on the theory that scarpa had vic orena set up by planting guns in his hideout with devecchios help ?? Sounds a bit whacky but there was some crazy shit going down at the time !! The evidence at vics trial was pretty shaky and I'm sure if scarpas status had been known to the defence like it was at wild bills trial he would have gotten not guilty -as it is he is gonna die in the can !!

Probably due to a restructuring of the Family when Magliocco took over. I think there was some tension between Magliocco and LoCicero too that could have played a part in it and Scarpa was very close with LoCicero.

Yep, Scarpa Jr. was acting for the Scarpati crew before Chucky Russo took the spot. Scarpa Sr. reported to Russo through the Colombo war I believe.

Scarpa Sr. was promoted to captain when Profaci was still alive but I don't remember if he ever mentioned who his crew members were. It seems possible he was given a new crew for a time, but if not, LoCicero's crew would make sense.

Scarpa said he was made in 1951.

Considering how close he was to Charlie LoCicero, chances are that Scarpa took over his crew in or around 1960. In Jan 1963, he was demoted and put with Ambrose Magliocco. When Colombo was made boss, Scarpa was direct with him. After the Colombo shooting, he was put with Charlie "Moose" Panarella. in 1981, when Panarella´s crew was disbanded, Scarpa was put with Scarpati.

Media has him often wrongfully described as a captain during the Colombo wars of the early 1990s. But he did not hold the rank of a captain after his demotion in 1963. His son though, was an acting skipper for Scarpati once in the mid 1980s, which pissed him off somewhat. He wasn´t pleased with having to take orders from his son.

He was a Capo at one time but lost his rank. I don't recall the details on that. By the 80s and early 90s he was in the Crew of Anthony Scarpati-Chucky Russo.

What was scarpos rank ? Just reading deal with the devil and his first FBI handler has him as a capo in the 60's yet under delvecchio he claims to just be a soldier??? If he was a soldier whose crew was he in ?? Cheers
