I can send you a copy If you want it pm me your email the file Is to big to post on the forum , it's not a mob list per se, although many of them would be considered associates. it was. Mugshot book released by the city of know criminals. It's a good list.

I took the PDF file of the 139 Mugshots that you sent me and I converted them to 139 Jpg photo pictures and posted them in groups of three per post inline in the Scalish Crime Photo section. Although we know that some don't belong, you have people like James Licavoli "Jack White" in their 1974 Cleveland Crime Book. At least it is a basis of the lesser known Associates or hang arounds in some cases.
Thanks for posting

Have you ever heard of Paul Minardi aka Paolo Minardo? He operated bootlegging out of Ravenna, OH and was arrested in 1940 with Carl La Fatch. Anyhow, he was very close to my great grandfather who was killed in Youngstown in 1924 and met with him a few days prior to his assasination. It appears he was still operating into the 1950's.
No I haven't heard of him. Anything prior to 1970 in Portage County I wouldn't have been aware of any activities.

Yes I belive I have I have seen in the newspaper call him the rackets boss of portage county . If I recall correctly yeah they claimed he left the rackets and started some legit business . When I get on my computer I see if I can find that article .

No I don't have any pictures of him - but get a load of this about Lesbian Bar:

Carmen Basile, a made guy in the Cleveland Mafia, ran Rinnella's Bar at East 65th and Carnegie Avenue which was a hoodlum meeting place during the week but on Friday and Saturday nights was "a hangout of Lesbians" according to a March 1958 FBI report. Basile worked under mob capo Frank Brancato, and "made a statement to an Agent of the Cleveland Office to the effect that he had high respect for FRANK BRANCATO and if he had a son he would like the boy to model himself after BRANCATO."

Any photos of Basile?

The Carmen Basile is the "Taxing Authority" or fee of entry into his area that he needed a taste. It wasn't a problem for him that the Irish/Italian West Side guys were operating because the East Side Little Italy has it sanctioned and was getting their cut. Basile wouldn't dare go against Lonardo.

So I take it the soldiers in Cleveland were divided along east and west? Did this exist in the 1960's (asking for the 60's chart)? What crews (Colingwood, Sterling etc were east and west? Or was it not divided that way with guys with east side affiliation living on the west side?
The only way to describe it would be:

Everything in Cleveland went to Little Italy on the East Side of Cleveland. Collinwood is also physically located on the East Side but that it where Danny Greene is from. The Irish Crew for lack of a better term is Danny Greene and Company which was allowed to operate on the West Side to Give the Money to the East Side regardless of percentage of the "take". The West Side was more of a aftermath of the Danny Greene Bombing and a reconciliation and last ditch effort ( It doesn't negate the before situation of every area needed to produce before Danny Greene bombing) to kick to Little Italy on the East Side of town.

If you look at the various neighborhoods within Cleveland - each was a very small area and it all fed (money proceeds) to Little Italy on the East side of Cleveland. Everyone had their little territory that needed to produce revenue such as the Gambling Revenue for the Cleveland LCN.

Danny Greene also use to come to Akron to get things going with the Irish (support) and to a lesser degree the Sicilians. It is hard to follow with him working Collinwood Area (East Side) and the West Side Area for the East Side. He played a dangerous game and LOST.

When I was growing up as a kid, my grandpa never had a drivers license. He was always driven by somebody...that somebody was either Jimmy Prato or Dominic Mallamo. Although Jimmy was a cousin of my grandmothers, she couldn't stand him. Every Thursday and Saturday, he would pick up my grandfather to go play cards at the CMAS club downtown. I could still hear my grandmother in the driveway telling my grandfather to be careful...ironically, my grandfather was a shoe maker and a small time numbers operator for Mallamo. When Mallamo retired in the early 1980's, my grandfather never took another numbers bet.

I remember going to Jimmy's house a few times with my uncle (the tailor), I remember how filthy it was...my uncle used to say to him, "you live like a pig, clean this fucking shit up." His wife could cook but she was a terrible housekeeper

When I got home from Viet Nam and was playing poker in a couple of RC's games I would often sit next to Jimmy. Yes, he aways had a couple of sub-nose 38s in his belt, thus his nickname : "Two Gun Jimmy". I didn't realize at the time that not only was he there because he liked to play poker but also to check the take and compare it with Pittsburgh's envelopes. Now I know why he always stayed after the game with Junior to count the cash. BTW: Jimmy never saw a card he didn't like :)
