Het, I have a question about early 60s transfers, my question is was it possible to get a transfer from the colombos right after the 1st colombo war and did it happen? I know that a lot of colombos switched fams in the 70s but did it happen in the 60s, after the war and after Joe Profaci died. Thanks in advance
No. No made member switched from the Colombo Family. All made members who had been with the Gallos during the war were brought back into the fold. Even Larry Gallo was on speaking terms with Colombo. Joey Gallo was in prison so his status with the Colombos was postpoened so to speak. It was after the second war some ASSOCIATES were allowed to switch affiliation. Among them were Albert Gallo, Illiano and Boriello. Why do you ask?
It's very Interesting how the Gallos and the colombos as a whole family had so much talent that ended up with the other fams later on, and on high positions with the new fams. Boss, underboss, capo etc.
I ask because, i've never read that anybody transfered in the 60s.
One may begin to wonder where would the colombo fam would be today, in terms of power, if the colombo war never happened, and all of those guys staied with the original fam, the colombos.
