Yeah great paying largely because of the overtime
I have a few longshoreman friends but there all kinds of jobs down there . My good friend fixes the boilers or something like that in a port union, someone always has to be there to fix it but 99.9% of the time he is going nothing and sleeping but this guy will work there for a few days straight , full 24 hours a day, doing very little but still clocking over 90 hours a week with the bulk being OT. Like I said some dudes basically live there , 24/7 for weeks , shit maybe months for some
From my understanding WS has a near monopoly on the trucking business . If you ain't in with them you ain't getting a port trucking contract . Their benefit business is very lucrative , multiple millions , and it's very hard for LE to prevent this business as the wiseguys are tight with the trucking and port unions and thats where the complaint and audit would have to come from and it's more of an IRS type investigation then traditional Fed work . Not too mention every trucking company owner is looking to shortchange their substantial benefit dues , everyone wants in and benefits with the only loser being a benefit plan participant if the benefit fund goes belly up. Just a crazy world down there that exists separately from ours lol. Some small advise, don't ever listen to an ILA member on a hot stock tip lol , tho I think most know this but hilariously there are plenty that still do.
