I imagine the set up has worked fine for all parties. Staluppi and Rosatti got a boost to their ego and image by getting made and the Colombo big wigs get two major money makers in the family.

I bet they still send envelopes. No way they can make huge amounts of money and not have somebody looking for a share and then threaten them with a bullet if they don't.

Yeah but doesn't appear that John Staluppi or Rossatti are involved in criminal rackets in anyway for many yrs. They only thing that ties them to criminal activity is informants saying that they provided cars or money towards the Colombo war in the early 90s . Other than that they appear to be legit business men. If they were involved in Criminal rackets like gambling etc they would have been outed or indicted by now like the rest of the nearly all the Colombo members over the yrs. Very few have escaped arrest over the last 30yrs. If anything it appears they probably built their legit businesses decades ago from proceeds of OC. By more then likely they just kick up a portion of their legit income to the Colombo's. I am sure LE would have sent wired up informants and targeted them if they were not legit.

Don Staluppi, I need a man who has powerful friends. I need a million dollars in cash. I need, Don Staluppi and all of those politicians that you carry around in your pocket, like so many nickels and dimes....

Palm Beach County Politicians Continue Sucking up to Alleged Mobster John Staluppi!

The love affair between Palm Beach County politicians and yacht builder John Staluppi continues unscathed, unquestioned, unadulterated.

According to a published report, suspected one-time organized crime soldier Staluppi is hosting a party Friday for retiring Palm Beach County administrator Bob Weisman.

Among the elected officials scheduled to show up: Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, who also benefits from Staluppi’s largesse for his campaigns; State Attorney Dave Aronberg; State Sen. Joseph Abruzzo; Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts Sharon Bock; Ex-County Commissioners Karen Marcus and Burt Aaronson; U.S. Senate hopeful Patrick Murphy; and a slew of hangerson.

The $150-per shindig is scheduled to take place at Staluppi’s breathtaking private car museum, a party palace in a North Palm Beach strip mall at 133 US 1 that Staluppi uses for political and charity fundraisers.

Each of the bold-facers named above should look at themselves in the mirror Friday, when they put their silly outfits for the 1950s-themed blowout, and wonder how associating themselves with Staluppi is going to make them better public servants.

We, at Gossip Extra, know how this party makes us feel: It makes us wanna puke — and wonder if the Weisman well-wishers went to Staluppi after they were told they just couldn’t hold their little wingding in John Gotti‘s old prison cell.

Taking advantage of the corporate media’s descent into oblivion, the county’s political establishment now is in a full canoodle with Staluppi.

Never mind that, over years, a handful of legitimate government agencies in New York and New Jersey have decided there’s enough evidence to tie Staluppi to Colombo crime family killers and, in one instance, refused to issue him a business license.

Yeah I don't think Farese was a LCN guy when he lived in NE. Seems that connection was made in a FL prison. But how he met his wife (Allie's daughter) I don't know. I have to assume he came back to NY with his Capo and met people or Allie's daughter moved to FL in the early 80s...? There children are grown and in or out of college. Also Farese is 12 ys older then his wife. She is close with Donny Shacks wife(possible exwife by now) by the way.

From what Rocco found it does look like it was Forlano who brought him in. Was Farese ever mentioned by Joe Dogs? Seems he knew most of the Florida Colombos. Wonder how Farese got hooked up with Persico's niece.

I should have added Farese to my topic from a little bit ago about non-Patriarca guys in New England. Seems with Farese it's just incidental though as his connection was through Florida.

Farese is married to Suzanne Farese, she is the daughter of the late Alphonse Persico(Carmines brother).

He was later made into the Colombo Family, earning his spot "by putting a couple of people away" (according to informant). Carmine Persico´s sister is/was married to Farese.

Funny thing, in 1964 when Farese was on trial for extortion, newspapers described Farese a bible seller.
I read he got to be friends with a Colombo Capo in Prison and once out was brought into that Capo's crew in S FL.
Sounds very plausible. Jiggs Forlano had interests down in Florida and was in prison in the early 1970s. Another skipper around this time (but with permanent residence in Tampa I believe) was Harry Fontana. But he may have been retired by then and was not in prison.
